Rarest SAILOR MADE MACRAME CASE with SCRIMSHAW ENGRAVING TOOLS c. mid-1800s Whaling Era- New England- Good Patina This is a rare sailor made wooden case with the original carved stopper that has been neatly covered with macrame knot work. And it appears to contain 9 curved needle-like tools that I am assuming were used to create scrimshaw designs on whale teeth. This is from the whaling era in New England, circa mid-1800s. Case with stopper is 6" long with a 1 1/4" largest diameter, and the tools are about 2 3/8" to 2 7/8" long. Condition is original and excellent with great old patina on the outside of the case and stopper, and the needles have old slightly oxidized surfaces. The macrame knot work is in perfect condition, also. When I first found this, I thought the tools were sail maker's needles, but I was surprised ... morewhen I photographed them out of the case to find that they are really not needles at all, but fine engraving tools- a rare find. 1900'S ANTIQUE DRAFTING TOOLS COMPASS SET ENGINEERING ARCHITECT TOOLS
Up for bid is a Japanese Drafting tool set by Yasukawa& Co. Isezaki-cho, Yokohama. It is early 1900's. From what I read on the internet it is a"curious mixture of French and English styles" and that the instruments are nickel-silver. Several of the instruments have bone handles, which unscrew to reveal prickers. There is discoration on the metal of these pieces. I think they could be cleaned up. The box is a grained leather. When you open it up there is a purple slot. I guess for paperwork.It has wear and damage that you can see from the photo. That flips up to reveal the 24 piece set of tool by Yasukawa.

Measurements: 2 Compasses: 5 1/4" Ox Bone Handled Tool: 5" Drafting Pencil w/Lead(missing handle) 3 1/4" Other tool(without handle) 3 1/4" Box: 6 3/4" x 3" There is no manufacture's mark on the box or the tools. Two of the tools have what looks like the number 88 engraved on them. These tools are multi-metal: Brass and Iron. One tool has a carved Ox Bone Handle. Two of the above tools are missing handles. There is a small blade type piece included above in the pictures(looks like a cow/bull head) I am not sure what this is. But it was included with these 5 pieces in the box. Also, I have pictured a small piece of metal in the front center of the box, that when closed fits into a hole on ... morethe front upper center of the box. Just attempting to get all the details pictured. These Engineer Drafting tools are old and require cleaning. I am not knowledgeable on Drafting Engineer tools. I am sure this is apparent. There are(13) tools that are made by Friedmann Precision. The largest compass was made by B.K. Elliott Co. Germany. This set does have the replacement twist dials and pins in the original small plastic tube. Storage case measures 11-3/4" x 5-1/4" and is lined with green velvet. The case shows signs of wear; scuffed up corners. Thread wear, crack on the top outside seam, but still has a lot of life left in this outstanding find!

Vintage Drafting Tools Frederick Post Co Germany Schoenner Keuffel Mixed Lot
This auction is for a great mixed lot of VINTAGE Drafting Kits. I do not know much about these items. I do not know what the tools are called or which ones exactly are missing. Other than the space in the case is empty but has the impression that something goes in that spot. I will list each with descriptions to the best of my knowledge. First is a Frederick Post Co#1075 Kit. It is in it's original black case with snaps that read'Posts' Outside of case is stamped 1075. Case is lined with purple velvet. It is missing three pieces. Drafting tools are in good shape. Some surface rust. Case is torn in two places on part of cover that snaps. Snaps do work. Some wear on corners of case. Most of the tools are stamped'Posts Germany' Second is a Hard Black Case stamped Germany and 9520 on top cover. Case is very worn but still ... moreopens/closes. Case is lined with blue velvet. This seems to have all pieces. One small circular container is empty. Not sure if this held anything? Pieces have some surface rust. I am unsure of the manufacturer, but one tool has the stamp Keuffel& Esser Co NY Germany. Third is a Schoenner Brand Drafting Kit in hard plastic black case. Case snaps well and it is in good condition except for some peeling and dents on it. It also has a yellow marking on case'69' Inside the case is green velvet and it is stamped Schoenner Made in germany. Looks to be missing one tool. Large tool is stamped with Schoenner Germany. Some surface rust on tools. This is a great set of old drafting tools. A great find for any collector of these! Shipping will be $10.00. This 414 page catalog is in excellent antique condition, with only corner bumps, a crease on the top right, and some loose threads at the side from the linen cover. The cover and interior pages are in excellent, readable condition. The inside pages have no marks, tears or soiling. The first page of the prices-included catalog tells us that it contains: Price list of pumps, Hay Unloading Tools, Barn, Warehouse and garage door hangers, store ladders, hay rack clamps, bicycle stands, gate hangers, etc. The company is(was) also known as the Ashland Pump ... moreand Hay Tool Works in Ashland, Ohio. Swiss Army knife, with extra, unusual blade, plus other tools, bigger than cadet
The unusual blade in on the left in first picture. It has a serrated blade portion close to the screwdriver tip. Not a homemade thing either. The 2nd picture should show the serrated portion more clearly. The main blades were used quite a bit and they have the scratches to prove it. All the tools open and close nicely. 17th Century moulding plane by Gabriel old woodworking tools
You are looking at an old moulding plane by the early Planemaker Gabriel who was based in London circa 1770.The plane you are looking at is 9 1/2" long and the profile it produces is a scotia mould,this plane has not been over cleaned and is in Original condition and has a nice old tool chest smell about it!
