1961 Harmony H306A Valco All Tube Guitar Amp Great DIY Project No Reserve
Here’s one for all you DIY amp builders… this is a vintage Harmony H306A guitar amp. Built for Harmony by Valco in 1961. This model is a favorite among players, lots of players compare it to the Fender Tweed Deluxe, although there is little actual resemblance in the two circuits… lots of nice reviews can be found for this amp. This model is also preferred by many over similar sized Valco and Supro model amps. We took it on trade from a good customer of ours who purchased it with the intentions of restoring or having it restored but after a couple of years of it just sitting in the his closet, decided he was never going to get around to it. It will make a nice DIY project for someone with the expertise or as a parts amp… lots of great vintage parts here. Plenty of pictures below and as you can see this amp is missing all tubes, the speaker, ... moreand the handle, came to us this way. This amp does need to be completely gone through, as obviously the gentleman that sold it to our customer had already started working on it. As can be seen in one of the pictures below showing the interior of the chassis, there are 9 new(yellow) Cornell Dubilier capacitors, the one blue capacitor you see is also a recent addition, and there very well might be other changes as well. We have not traced through the circuit and of course the amp has not been tested. The power and output transformers are not the original, mounting holes do not quite match up, and we have provided close-up pictures below showing the numbers on these transformers, which need to be researched as they may or may not be correct for this amp. Also for whatever reason, someone sprayed some red paint in the interior of the cabinet, as you can see in the picture of the amp from the back this is really not that big a deal… if I were restoring this one, I would mask it off and brush or spray the interior of the cabinet flat black or grey, just to give it a nice clean look. But I have a few good chip plugs that work for my needs and I'm sure somebody with a serious hands on chip desire will get more out of this than I have. When I received the unit, there were ZERO patches on it. I have patched a few in that I will leave saved. Mostly, I would create patches from scratch each time I used it. Fairly easy to work with, after you figure out a few little tricks. I recommend finding an online manual and reading into it. You can find default patches online pretty easily. This is real chip technology, and you should expect it to act like it. Weird noises, and some analog craziness here and there. Very pleasing to dive into. Here is a nice set of Kenney Bros& Wolkins cast iron adjustable table legs. They would make a great coffee table. End table, or whatever else you can dream up for them. Great industrial look to them. Legs are in great shape with no cracks or repairs. Refer to the pictures for finish condition. There is light rust in places. They could be easily cleaned up and painted or left as is to really show their age. The legs are 11 and 3/4" wide at the base, and 7 and 1/2" wide at the top. Machine Age steel adjustable table legs antique vintage old cool DIY
Here is an unusual set of steel adjustable table legs. The table supports ride inside the posts. I'm including a couple steel caps that could be incorporated into your design to cover the posts. These are really unique legs that could be used to make any number of different industrial style tables or racks. I was thinking about making a really cool adjustable height shoe rack for the entry of my house but have too many other projects. The legs measure 11" wide ant the base and 6" wide at the top. The table supports adjust from 12" high at the lowest to 26" high at the tallest. With the supports set at the full 26" high an oversized top could extend out past the posts and cover them totally. DIY amp Single Ended 6v6 6l6 12ax7 head and 2 x 12 Califone suitcase cab
An amp I cobbled together with old power and output transformers. Based on a simple single ended design with a 12ax7 preamp. I use it with 6v6 or 6l6 tubes. The 6l6 takes longer to break up. I have it wired so it is possible to use two 6v6 tubes in parallel as well. I built this amp about 4 years ago so that is how old the filter caps are. Vintage transformers and mostly new capacitors and resisters. I think It has some high end pots as well. I have used this amp in small bars with a full band( 4 others) and it was loud enough with the addition of a stomp box distortion for a signal boost. One of my favorite little amps. Comes as you see it with the Califone cabinet and two vintage Rola 12' speakers.

Another one in the fixer pile I won't get to soon. It is super fiddly to pull the pcb out due to the style its made in. And I need to do that to replace the two broken off pots, going to put that off indefinitely so it gets a chance to go to someone with less distractions. The valves it came with were half shot, it turns on and makes sound with kt88 I had about, but they draw a little more heater current than the 6550 it came with, so didn't run those for long, just checked it had voltages and output, so the transformers are good. So either a restoration project or can use the transformers and chassis for something else, 150w from a quad of 6550 is pretty massive overkill and the ton of knobs and drive options say this is a guitar amp, so not sure it would suit me as is anyway. Another one of my estate sale Relics. The legs are black walnut that has been painted numerous times.And the final color is yellow cream with gold radiator paint in places. The legs would make great shelf brackets with a little bit of work,and some woodworking knowledge. its difficult to measur a piece like this but i will do my best. The one leg has a large chip out of the top carving. The legs measure approx 10 in tall if they where standing like table legs should be. They are approx 1 3/4in wide at the top and bottoms with a narrowing portion in the center. There are two dowl holes in the back of the curved portion where it would have sat against the column. I think these would safely hold a 9in shelf with a little modification. They are nicely carved,and the carvings are actual carvings,and NOT plaster applied. 1960s/70s Japanese-made EB0-style short-scale bass- weird DIY finish. Relic Please scroll down for more pictures. I'm afraid that I am not able to tell you too much about this bass. Look at the pics(below) your guess as to its origins are as good as mine. It's a short-scale bass in the style of a Gibson EB0 but with a bolt-on neck. I'm pretty sure its Japanese-made. Probably late 1960s/early 1970s, and it has been suggested that it might be a lawsuit-era Ibanez. It is incredibly solid, and never mind the bizarre DIY paintjob, vinyl shapes and hand-cut pickup surround and pickguard, it actually is a really nice player, sounds great and records really well. As well as the neck humbucker as was standard on EB0-style basses, this bass has been modded with the addition of a Jazz Bass pickup allowing a range of tones to be selected ... morevia the two volume controls(one for each pickup) and single tone control. This could be considered a"relic" of sorts. I'm sure it has seen a lot of action. And just look at the checking and crazing in the paintwork. It just shows that someone modded this bass a long long time ago. This bass certainly has a lot of character! Buyers are welcome to collect from my home in Pembrokeshire.
