So a high working pressure is achieved using the toggle mechanism with a relatively low effort(approximately 150N) on the part of the user. Toggle presses are therefore used where the full force of the press is only required over a short distance at the end of the working stroke. E.g. in die-cutting presses, assembling, punching, riveting, stamping, gluing etc. The maximisation of compressive force is caused by the double. Moveable suspension of the connect-ing lever, which is located between the toggle lever and the plunger. That is why toggle presses are also called indirect-acting presses. The plunger conducted into the long, precisely honed plunger hole exerts a linear movement and transfers the force to the work piece. A spring, which is made taught with the stroke, not only makes the easy back-stroke of the press possible, but also gives the operator a feeling for the movement being executed through its initial tension. This auction is for a Union Tool staking or arbor press. This is the sixth of six I have for sale. This is in good working condition. The base measures approximately 10-1/4" x 6" It is 15" high with the base/extensions. 13" high for just the machine. It can be used as an arbor press or as a small manual brake press. I used these for a couple jobs that where small complicated parts that needed to be formed. I would set up all of the machines for different steps in the same part, it worked excellent! They are nice machines and the depth of the stroke can be adjusted with the set screws/wheel. The three pictures shown of a part is one of the parts that I used to do entirely on these machines. The tooling that I used for these parts are not included in any of my auctions.
