THESE ARE TWO GLASS“PLANTER” TYPE BOWLS FOUND IN THE ESTATE OF A RELATIVE WHICH WERE AMONG OTHER“KEEPSAKE” ITEMS THAT DATED FROM THE LATE 1800’S TO THE LATE 1920’S. THEY ARE POSSIBLY DEPRESSION GLASS. HOWEVER, I CAN NOT STATE FOR SURE, ONLY THAT I KNOW THAT THEY ARE QUITE OLD. ONE OF THE PIECES HAS A LIGHT TO MEDIUM PINK HUE AND THE OTHER A YELLOWISH GREEN HUE. Lovely Sevres type planter or jardiniere with polychrome floral decor
An exquisite Sevres style flower pot or jardiniere. The jardiniere has a wide gold band at the rim followed by 5 thin bands of gilt. Below these. On opposite sides of the jardiniere are two raised lion mask( handles set against an apple green ground at the bottom of which is a scrolled floral band in raised gilt. The lower body of the jardiniere has a motif of pink roses, morning glories, blue corn flowers and what appear to be purple and white chrysanthemums. This floral decor is followed by an additional 5 thin bands of gilt at the bottom of the pot. There is a small hole in the bottom to allow for drainage of water. There are some rust stains on the underside of the pot and in the interior that could probably be removed with some soap and water and gentle scrubbing. There is also a minor hairline glaze crack on the underside of the pot ... morenot affecting the porcelain body itself and invisible when the pot sits upright. The number 1 is impressed into the underside of the jardiniere. The approximate dimensions are 4 inches high by 4 and 1/4 inches wide, from handle to handle. Art, Collectable's& Fine Binding Books Antique Empire Period Porcelain Campana Urn Vase Floral Planter Very Ornate This is a wonderful very fine quality Campana porcelain vase. Decorated in rich ornate gold gildings and enamel on a white. Date: 1810-1820. Unmarked to the base but Sevres type style and quality. Maybe English or French. The front features a framed circular vignette with a landscape scene of a Mill house, horse and rider with woman walking. On the reverse also circular is another framed vignette featuring a Cottage with lake, boat and 3 people. The white porcelain body is covered with bands of swirl, feather and gilt patterns. There are several areas of bead like paint dots that add texture and depth. The burnt red ribbon swirls tie together ... moreall the ornate decorations. The rim and lower section of the body feature additional ornate gold accents. The Urn is framed by a pair of handles, and raised on a circular formed stem resting on a square plinth base. One handle was repaired, probably 50 years ago, some slight wear to gold gilding, faint discoloration to inside. No other issues. Still very showy and beautiful. Some of the most ornate painting I have ever seen on one piece, photos do not do it justice. Size is 12 5/8" tall at it's widest 8 1/2" with a 5" square base. ~~*~~*~~ This is a NO RESERVE AUCTION.
