Old 1920's JI Case Pocket Ledger Hit Miss Gas Engine Steam Crossmotor Tractor
This is a really neat original Machinery Operators Account Book from the JI Case Threshing Machine Company. It measures about 4 x 6 1/4 inches and has about 30 pages. It is in decent used condition with soiling and smudges that can be expected on something that is almost 100 years old. The inside pages have accounts recorded where 800 bushels of oats were threshed for 3 cents per bushel. There are lots of neat little pages like this and most of them are dated 1925. The back cover lists all of the branch houses in North America. The inside of it lists all of the equipment that JI Case offered including three sizes of kerosene tractors. Road rollers, skid engines, threshing machines, steam tractors, baling presses, silo fillers, rock crushers, Grand Detour plows, disks, and horse drawn implements. This is a very hard to find and near perfect original owner's manual for a Fairbanks Morse Y oil engine. It is for the 10hp engine but is probably the same for the larger sizes as well. It measures about 6 x 9 inches with 56 pages and is in near perfect condition. It has some very minor soiling and wear but is as close to mint as you could hope to find. It covers all aspects of the engine including erecting. Plumbing, cooling, starting, running, oiling, and also has a nice parts breakdown. It shows the original starting torch and friction clutch pulley along with other accessories. It would be a fine addition to your paper collection especially if you have one of these engines! The Webster Oscillating Magneto was only used on single cylinder low compression engines for the period 1910-1920. I can not find any info on the engine maker. here is some info from the web. Serial#87868 1/2 Horse Power Gasoline Engine manufactured for the Empire Cream Separator Co. Bloomfield, New Jersey by the Alamo Manufacturing Co. Hillsdale, Michigan. 1/8" Bore X 4 5/8" Stroke- Rated H.P. at 500 R.P.M. This engine line was typical of many in that it wore the name of one company as'their' engine and yet was actually built by some other firm. This engine features a"Webster" oscillating magneto for ignition. Open crankcase design and weighs about 325 lbs(147 kg)

You are bidding on an original parts manual from 1947 for Buda 4 and 6 cylinder industrial gas engines. This 40 page manual was issued in July 1947 and contains expanded views and parts lists for models 4B-153. 4B-182, 6B-230 and 6B-273. The pages have slight yellowing from age and the cover has a 1 1/2" separation along the binding at the top. This parts manual must not have spent much time in the shop because the pages have no oil or grease smudges. The photos are your best guide to the condition of this document. Bonus: Inside the manual is a letter postmarked July 1948 that contains correspondence with a farmers from Zearing. Iowa with a leaking head problem on his Co-op tractor. There are 62 bright but slightly age-toned pages, with Excellent Illustrations, pages are of a high quality slick paper Has two stapled paper covers because of publisher's error; Outer cover shows age and some minor soiling and chipping to edges. Interesting and Useful Excerpts from Booklet: Important Instructions for Operators. The importance of correct lubrication cannot be too strongly impressed on tractor drivers. The worst abuse that can be given the Tractor is by racing the motor. It is very important that the air washer by properly filled with water at all times. The Drawbar Cap is provided for your convenience ... morein hitching. Always hitch to this Drawbar Cap. Do not hitch a chain or rope around the rear axle housing under any circumstances. The corners are mice chewed and the top part of the binding is missing, otherwise complete and presentable as a piece of our agricultural history.
