When I purchased this item there was no jar and the ring was in bad condition. I cleaned ... morethe item up. Put a standard fruit jar lid on along with a 1/2pt Ball jar. Originally it was made for a 3" air intake pipe. I will include a home made adapter so it will fit on a 2 1/4" pipe like is on the IH 400 and several other tractors of that vintage. Simply slide the adapter over your intake pipe, drill 3 1/8" holes and pop rivet the adapter to the pipe. Now slip the pre-cleaner over the adapter and tighten it down. I had this on my IH 400 for a few years when I was making small square bales of hay. Worked great but no longer have use for it. Went back to the mushroom pre-cleaner. This is THE TRACTOR FIELD BOOK With Power Farm Equipment Specifications. 1937-1938 Published by Farm Implement News Co Chicago. It is 200 pages chock full of cool vintage ads information and specifications for the latest farm and tractor equipment for 1938. The ads are very art deco and have many brands that are no longer in production but are fun to look at It has tons of specs and information for many many brands and models. One section I thought was very interesting was the cross sections of many of the tractors within. It shows the internal workings as if you sliced the tractor in half to show a cross section of the insides. This book is in very good condition for the age. It has a couple creases and light staining on the back. I did not see any torn pages or other problems. Very nice condition. Message with any info and thanks for looking!
