This is an antique Slingerland wood 14X10 snare shell. Hoops, rings and some metal components. All of the metal parts have some surface oxidation and the shell seam has a slight separation in one area(see pictures) The tension rod posts are marked: SLINGERLAND CHICAGO ILL. U.S.A. The scalloped cloud badge dates the drum to 1928-1941. The shell. Hoops and rings are all in round and in good shape. There is no reserve for these antique Slingerland drum parts. This auction is for a DW Collector's Series 10x14 Tom Shell. Shell only. Nothing else included. The shell actually measures 9& 5/8" in depth and 14" in diameter. It can be used in floor tom style or because of the shallow depth. As a rack tom It is in excellent condition; very clean w/ only 1 very tiny chip in the finish(see pic) The finish is Royal Regal Fade and it is absolutely beautiful. I've seen many DW finishes and this is one of the best. The bearing edges are perfect and the shell is perfectly in round. It is a 100% maple shell. 6 ply shell, with 3 ply reinforcement rings. It is drilled for 16 lugs. 2 badges and the grommet. The lug hole spacing is the same that DW has always used(1& 3/8" The note stamped is D. The date is Jun 11 2004. And the serial# 615742. In some places it is totally gone. There is also a bit of maroon bleeding on one end of the platter as shown in the close up in picture two. Ludwig 14" Rack Tom Blue Olive Late 70's 14x10 Drum Black Classic 6 Ply Maple
Ludwig Classic 6-ply 14x10 rack tom from the blue and olive era. Serial number puts this drum at 1979-80. Plies are poplar and maple, and inside is unfinished. In good condition with some scratches on the wrap but nothing that's visible from any distance. Chrome is in great shape. No pitting. Bearing edges are perfect, and tom bracket looks good and works well. Drum has been dusted but not thoroughly polished, and would shine more with some chrome/plastic polish. All parts are original. Including tension rods, bracket and tone control. Badge looks great, no lifting or warping. It is a full"sharp" badge, not a clipped one as was often used on drums of this era. The cameo is just like the painting, except, it is faceted on all sides, which made taking a picture impossible, it would catch any light and reflect it, the picture is sorry, but the cameo is pretty nice, the faceted sides just make it different. It does give you that 3-D effect. They measures a 14x10 MM. This would look great in earring, bracelets, pin and rings. I bought out years ago an old jewelry store in Nevada. This auction is for a Ludwig Super Sensitive 14x10 Snare. It has a Ludalloy Shell and the Blue/Olive Badge has the serial number 858303. The date stamp on the label inside the shell reads May 3. 1971 and the Model Number is written 420. The words Reliable Anti Galvanic are also stamped inside the shell. The snare is sold as is for a fixerupper project or parts snare. This snare is not complete so please look carefully at the pictures. The snare wires are missing. The snare is sold as is and is missing the snare wires. The alloy shell looks ok and the bearing edges look good. The outside shell has many areas where the chrome is peeling and loose. It has scratches and worn areas as you can see. The rims, lugs and other hardware have scratches. Pitting and wear and need to be cleaned. Hello! Thanks for taking a look at this auction. Up for bids is a custom 14 diameter X 10 Depth snare drum. Previously a slingerland tom that has been recovered as a snare. Bearing edges re-cut with 45 degree inner edges and rounded over outer edges. Snare beds were hand filed for width and depth to support more snare wires. Comes fully equipped with puresound 30 strand snare wires. Triple-flanged counter hoops, DW magnatic throwoff with adjustable snare butt(see pictures) This is a doozy and makes adjusting snare sensitivity a breeze with even more room to customize your sound. Up for bid is a vintage 14 x 10" unusual. Bright white, pineapple doily. The doily is crocheted with very. Interesting 3D popcorn stitches. There are five complete pineapples and some of the pineapples"bleed" over into parts of two other pineapples. Between each of the six pineapples are short chains. The edge area has long interlocking chains and the outside row has a picot on each chain. There are no holes or broken stitches in this doily and it's from a home with no smoking or pets. 8-lug rack tom. Somewhat rare 14x10 size. All original except for the washers on the tension rods. Serial number dates to 1974, making it one of the later script logo drums produced. 9/72 paper badge inside. Complete with Swiv-o-matic collet mount, which is cast and has some cracks but still tightens effectively. Has the"beavertail" lug casings. 5-ply maple shell. Or 4 plies of maple and one of some other wood depending on who you ask. Re-rings and a granittone type interior. Currently has a Pinstripe on top and a clear ambassador on bottom. All casings and inserts are original and in good shape. Drum is perfectly in round and the heads fit snugly as they should. Both script logos are in fine shape. All chrome has been polished. This auction is for a Ludwig Classic 14x10 Marching Snare. The Ludwig Blue/Olive Badge has the serial number 3035658. The snare is in overall good condition and sounds great! The wood shell looks to be in good shape and the bearing edges look good. The outside wood shell has a white wrap. The wrap has scratches and a few worn areas as you can see and needs to be cleaned(the pictures show white streaks but these are from the camera flash and not on the drum) There are two factory drilled holes in the shell. Probably for a knee brace. The heads are in good shape. The top is an Remo Renaissance RE and the botto m is a new Remo WeatherKing Falam II. Long arm"D" marked Rogers throw, and original Dynasonic frame and wire. This drum was, at some point, very cleanly rewrapped in solid black. The Dynasonic badge is missing but the nailholes from the badge are visible inside the shell. This drum also had a leg brace installed that is no longer visible. Leedy & Ludwig 14X10 Snare Drum/Field Drum 1950's
You are bidding on a 1950's vintage Leedy& Ludwig snare drum/field drum. In it's conception. This drum was meant as a crossover instrument that could bridge the gap between orchestral playing and marching band situations and works great for both indeed. I used it as a practice instrument and also many times with professional orchestras when I had parts which needed that lower or'military' style sound. It is 14X10 with an oak(I think! shell and beautiful wooden hoops that give a real classic look. The snares are made of thick ribbed wire that emulate the old style gut snare sound quite well without diminishing the quality of the contact with the snare side head. One quirk of this drum is that it doesn't have a snare throw/strainer with a lever to turn the snares on and off like most modern drums, instead there is simply ... morea knob to turn that controls the snare tension manually. Didn't bother me even in gigs but thought I would let the buyer know! All metal hardware is free from warping! Issues with the drum are purely cosmetic and include minor blemishes and very slight discoloration on the shell and also some corrosion on the metal hardware. Also the heads aren't new by any means but they will work for quite a while if need be. This drum would be great for anyone from a beginner looking for their first drum. I WOULD DATE THIS TO THE 1970's OR 80' AND IT MAY HAVE ALSO BEEN USED AS A MARCHING DRUM, AS THERE ARE 2 PIECES, WHERE IT LOOKS LIKE A SHOULDER STRAP WOULD HOOK INTO.
