Trevil Mini Vap 3 800 Watt Professional Steam Boiler Iron
Up for auction is a Trevil Mini Vap 3 Professional Steam Boiler Iron. This item was manufactured in Italy for Ace-Hi and sold as the MSB-400 Steam Iron. I have recently acquired a new boiler iron. However this system worked okay for me. I made several pairs of jeans with it and it provided hot pressurized steam. There are a couple of things to know about this iron. And they are the reason that I am selling it as parts only. 1. The steam cap leaks. So you will hear a slight hiss during the duration of use. Now pressure does get up to where is is supposed to(the pressure ready light turns on) But because the steam slowly leaks out. The boiler will probably turn on more than usual. However I have checked the cap, and a cap for a reliable I500 will also work on this machine and they are not expensive, they just are not the exact replacement as ... morethe Trevil cap allows you to press down on the cap to release the steam(probably a weak feature and the reason this has resulted in leaking) 2. There appears to be another leak(perhaps in the boiler itself or one of the internal fittings. It is a very slow leak. And it does not appear to have any effect on the integrity of the machine, but you will notice a small puddle form under the iron after prolonged use. This may even be condensation of the steam from the leaking boiler cap, but I have been unable to confirm this. I do not see any cracks or issues with the boiler container itself. 3. Teflon Iron shoe is worn out and will need to be replaced. I am only including it to protect the Iron base. 4. One of the previous owners must have used an anti-scaling agent in it. So when I received it those little balls that look like tiny fish eggs poured out of the boiler. This is not a required additive on a boiler iron, but the previous owner obviously did not know that. I have done my best to rinse it out(and even soaked the boiler with white vinegar to help clean it) but there is some residue that comes out from time to time. And you can kinda smell the anti scaling agent. It
