These inserters are suitable for small volume mailings such as a church. Hospital, charitable organization, etc. Manufacturer Description includes: Tabletop Inserter for folding, inserting and sealing material like statements, invoices, literature, brochures, sales letters, direct mail promotions, remittance checks, pay checks, newsletters, bulletins, notices, announcements, price lists, and sales information. Prior to their retirement from the business. These machines were used to fold and insert into an envelope, about 2000 letters per week, that were mailed at the local post office. It is my belief that these units are the equivalent of the Neopost Model 7755 Folder/Inserter. These two inserters were both fully functional when they were retired several years ago. Both inserters currently light up the front panel display. But do not run ... moreas they had previously. Both inserters are in need of loving care and air shocks, that are similar to the ones that hold the trunk lid of your car open during access to trunk content. As an alternative to air shock replacement, a stick could be used to prop the upper section of the clamshell-design folder/inserter open during cleaning and jam removal occasions. The concept of having two inserters was to insure that at least one of them was functioning properly when needed two or three times during a week. The second unit functioned as insurance and as a source of spare parts if needed in a hurry. With a little loving care they probably can again be reliable machines. Letter size 8 ½” x 11” sheets can be letter-folded 3 ¼” to 4 ¼” high or half-folded 3 ¼” to 6” high. Small inserts 6 7/8” to 8 ¾” wide x 3 1/8” to 4 1/8” high can be handled. Small envelopes 8 ½” to 9 ½” wide x 3 5/8” to 4 1/8” high are suitable; including#9. 10 and check-size envelopes. Large envelopes 8 ½” to 9 ½” wide x 4 1/8” to 6 ½” high are ok. Martin Yale 121700 Auto Folder For sale- a Martin Yale Auto Folder Model 121700. This is about the same size as the Martin Yale 1217A. And in looking at current listings it isn’t uncommon for sellers to call this model a 1217A. But there are differences. I just don’t know what they are. The 1217 has a knob on the side that the 121700 does not. But I have no idea what that knob does. This thing is in very good shape physically. Except that the second fold piece inexplicably has some rust on it as pictured. I feel certain that could be sanded down and given a shot of spray paint and probably be good as new. But I will leave that bit of work to you. Once I figured out where the second fold piece went and got the settings right the machine was able to fold a number of trifolds as pictured. But I also got some misfeeds as well. I have almost zero ... moreprior experience with these things. So no doubt some adjustments can be made and no question that the rollers need to be cleaned. I don’t have a manual so once again I will leave that bit of maintenance to you. I am guessing that this piece would be a better purchase for someone who knows their way around the machine rather than a novice like me. Untested other than as described and pictured. And NO warranty is offered. However. IF you pay the asking price and find it has a problem you cannot live with within 14 days of receipt you may return it.
