DIY Maker Robot Arm or Automation Parts - Low Reserve!
These six units came off from semiconductor equipment. They have been waiting to find a home with somebody who has some imagination! Each unit has a sealed ball bearing supported shafts of approx. 8mm. Each shaft has a lever on each end. Both are drilled and pinned to the shaft so there is no play- these actuators are very precise. One of the levers supports a small cam follower roller. These red rollers appear to be a high durometer urethane. Each unit is approx. 8" in overal length. The support blocks are drilled with what appears to be linear block mounting holes. These were mounted on rails when I removed them from the machine. There are three pairs. You can see each"matched" set in the photos. Two of the pairs are slightly different in how they orient- look closely. Each pair has a left and a right. These two pairs work ... morebeautifully. The third pair in the photo with the missing roller should be considered for spare parts. One of those blocks has a shaft that is slight bent and the other is missing a roller- again the third pair should be considered for spare parts to support your other two great pairs. What can you use these for? Your imagination is the limit! Some ideas I have. But have no need for: 1) Proximity switch levers for a large robot- roller actuates against an obstacle and triggers the robot to change direction) 2) Feelers or"fingers" for a robot actuator- the hard urethane rollers provide a tactile surface with precise position. 3) Cam followers for your Rube Goldberg device! 4) Switch actuators for whatever you can dream up- your doors in your house. Machines, etc. 5) Mount these on a rail and you have 2 degrees of freedom for pick and place automation devices. Plus three other units gives you four devices to do four times the work!
