Recently, Yobi Adventures, a new, online, community-based, fly fishing expedition and booking outfit, contacted me about buying the Trout Underground. Because M1 and M2 always need a new pair of shoes (and skis, and soccer balls, and baseball gloves, and fishing gear, and chess sets, and books, and bicycles, and... you get the picture), I listened to the nice man on the other end of the phone. Turns out he had a lot to say. theundeadUnlike the handful of others who have come calling, Yobi Adventures isn't simply after the Trout Underground's Google Juice and readership. Instead, they want to add the Underground to their online community. And it gets even more interesting; they're interested in raising the Underground from the dead (The Zombie Underground?!) to tweak those who would happily pollute our waters or lock us out of our public lands. In simple terms, they'd like me to write a few enviro/access stories. (Hmmmmm, enviro stories...) Maybe even the odd fly fishing post. Astonishingly -- and unlike the handful of online companies who have lusted after the Underground's sizable archives, committed readership and considerable Google Juice -- they're underlining all their talk with an offer I'm not sure I can refuse. Things, it seem, may be about to change around here.

Fishing Waters
The Sacramento River is the principal river of Northern California in the United States, and is the largest river in California. Rising in the Klamath Mountains, near Mount Shasta ... more(in Siskiyou county), the river flows south for 445 miles, through the northern section (Sacramento Valley) of the Central Valley, before reaching the Sacramento–San Joaquin River Delta and San Francisco Bay. It forms a common delta with the San Joaquin River before entering Suisun Bay, the northern arm of San Francisco Bay. The river drains about 27,500 square miles, with an average annual runoff of 22 million acre-feet, in 19 California counties, mostly within a region bounded by the Coast Ranges and Sierra Nevada known as the Sacramento Valley, but also extending as far as the volcanic plateaus of Northeastern California.

Sadly, not shortage of issues for us to look at (stream access, Everglades, etc), but maybe we'll update the Klamath mess, which may finally resolving itself.

On the off chance that the final offer price is dependent on whether or not your esteemed readership still has a pulse, I'm writing to say well done and that I'll be an avid reader under the new structure. ?

Drop a line if you need a boat ride (perhaps a Klamath story?) or want to go check out a local creek. I hope to see you soon, until then be well, fish as often as you can, and keep up the good fight!

Thanks for the kind words. Don't think they're planning to flood you with anything; their strategy seems more of the inbound marketing variety. And here you go: https://youtu.be/xos2MnVxe-c

Things are good. Some challenges with the rugrats, but then you don't experience what they did the first year of their lives without it leaving a mark. Money helps.

Oh, I don't expect too much. I'll give it two years before your first Pulitzer, or first million. Do us blogs proud, sir. And who could complain about fishing? Only an idiot.

In fairness to me, this is a post. But I wouldn't expect too much. I'm mired in the business of keeping kids fed, dressed and alive, so it's not as if I'm traveling to exotic locations and going fishing or anything and then complaining about it (any resemblance to real people, living or dead, is purely coincidental).

If you're looking for a sign, I haven't checked the TU since Nov 2014 and for whatever reason I clicked on the bookmark (still haven't deleted it) tonight and find this. Go for it, man.
