CalTrout’s Mike Wier just released a documentary/fish porn video on the Pit River, including a little history and news about how it fishes at the “new” (FERC-mandated) flows.

There’s more information on the CalTrout site (if you want to learn more about the FERC relicensing and CalTrout’s thinking on the new, higher flows, click here).

Fish porn indeed! Makes it kinda hard to be sitting in a desk right now. Thanks for sharing, Tom.

Nice looking water….. also looks like a “you’re gonna get wet” river

It’s an excellent proving ground for wading shoes…

Yeah, this is a great river, no doubt. Now if I could just figure out how to fish it without drowning. Last time I saw it (last October), just looking at it scared me.

Very, very cool! As far as I’m concerned that’s the end-all, be-all of trout fishing. Nice job CalTrout.
I am wondering why the water is so muddy. One would think a tail water would be clear?
Just out of curiosity, what is it with California anglers and bobbers? Not an indictment, just some honest perplexity.
