Dog Surfing: Sign of the Impending Apocalypse?

Sure, it's not fly fishing related, but man does not live by trout alone. Studies prove that he also needs a healthy dose of... Surfing Dogs.

Via the Blogfish oceans blog we found this little gem:

Sure, it looks like Yoda on a surfboard, but it's actually Bandit, and he's one of 47 surfing canines who turned out at a surfing contest. From Fox News:


Toby, a shih tzu mix, took home first place with Stoli, a black lab, and OB Dude, a basset mix, following closely behind in the first heat. Zoey, a Jack Russell terrier, came in first place and OB Dude and Pogey, a poodle mix, brought home second and third place, respectively, in the second heat of surf dogs and their owners surfing together.

Sure, it's not fly fishing related, but, you know, cowabunga dude...

Yeah, that Basset hound sure looks to be having a good time. The Wonderdog, alas, is simply not smart enough to surf. Show him a surfboard and he'll probably try to eat it. As for bikini attention, I'm married to a woman of strong opinions, so too much bikini attention will likely be hazardous to my health. Still, thanks for looking out for me in those terms.

I would think the wonderdog would both enjoy and excel at something like this. Think of all the bikini attention you'd get.
