The tablecloth is filled with different fruit images and is a non-repeating design. The embroidery colors are vibrant and the fruit depicted is so realistic. There are apples. Pears, figs, grapes and cherries complete with stems and leaves- just looking as if there were just picked. This antique tablecloth was likely made in the timeframe of the 1900's to 1920's. I believe that this is a Society Silk embroidery piece. There are a variety of needlework stitches used with satin stitch embroidery and what looks to be Kensington. Vintage Danish Lane Acclaim Mid Century round coffee table
This is the timeless classic by Lane. It is as beautiful and desireable today as it was 50 years ago. The intersection grains and dovetails are unmistakeable. It appears that this one has had the top stripped and revarnished. There is some discoloring on the top that is difficult to capture with a camera. The legs and feet have the usual scuffs and marks that a table this age should have. The black feet are made of wood so they would be easy to paint. All the glides are in place. Antique Inlaid Round Chess Table; Walnut Burr Veneer; Marquetry Border; 31" x 18" 4-legged round table with tripod-type base. Fixed round top with Walnut Burr veneer inlay and original chess squares inlaid in Walnut and Maple. Board is enclosed with ebony/rosewood marquetry stringing. c1900; Well kept and in good condition. The table top has been carefully re-finished and french polished. Smooth and unmarked surface whilst retaining the patina of the original veneer beneath. 44.4cm along the grain. 43.7 across the grain All veneer work remains in good order- no cracking or flaking. No missing patches. Two repairs from long ago are visible, but neatly and carefully done. This will be shipped in two pieces for safer packaging and less costly postage. Base fixes to top with 4 screws. It has been hand stitched with cross stitches in shades of green in a classic Swedish pattern. There are charming variations of stitches and colors. Evidence of many different hands working on it. Each site where it was stitched and added to is sewn into the hem along with the dates when it it was there and eventually finished(finis) There is a paper tag provenance attached that also tells the dates and locations of work. This is an exquisite. Rare, hand worked piece, sure to be treasured! It measures about 35" x 35" and has a drawn work 1 1/2" hem. I did not launder but it is clean and only has one small thready. The pages have a little wearing on the corners. There were two pages that had a one inch bend bottom corner that I straightened out. This comic book lays flat with no spine rolling from storage. The spine, corners and edges on the cover of the comic book have only a little wearing from handling. The cover itself is pretty nice as you can see in the photo. Only a couple light wrinkles. We are pleased to offer this beautiful. Mid Century Modern, Hollywood Regency side or accent table. The table is nicely designed and features octagonal wood base with a large, fluted, round pedestal or column mid section and large rounded top. The fluted column has a large door which is accented with the original brass, ornate pulls. The door does open and there is a generous storage area inside the table. The table top is round with a gorgeous, starburst design in the center which is accomplished with the wood inlay. The table is solid wood(maybe walnut) There is also a lovely, square beaded band of wood just under the table top. The column and the top rim have bee painted in a soft, leaf green. The table is very nice and quite unique. It is in good vintage condition with some expected aging. There are surface splits/cracks in the wood but ... morethey do not affect the structural integrity nor are they distracting. This is a beautiful table which does provide nice function as well.
