Wow. When they designed and manufactured this one they did it for KEEPS. Mid Century Modern Coffee Table with Tapered Legs. Would love to know the Designer of this. Jens Risom? Probber? who? anyone know? This is a great size Coffee Table. Not Huge! Doesn't take up the whole room. Measurements are: Diameter 28 1/4" Round frame is made forever! 2" wide and 2 1/2" thick, Rock hard maple as far as I can tell. Round formica cap top 25 3/8" diameter and 3/8" above frame. Tapered legs measure 2 1/2" at top slight edge bevel and 1" bottom tip, see picture) still has metal sleeves for castors or leg tips. Table height as well as leg height is 15 1/2" As you can see the varnish finish has some wear around the edges. Some Russ character scratched his name into the top finish on the maple frame. This table runner is a vintage round Frederick Herrschner Co. Flower Designed piece. This piece needs to be embroidered. No floss included. It measures about 10 1/2" in diameter. The square it is on measures 12" X 12" It has a pretty flower design on all four sides. The one flower has some discoloration on it, you can see it on the picture, I don't know if this will wash out or if it is a stain. It is cream colored, I don't know the original color. VICTORIAN TIGER OAK QUARTERSAWN SOLID AND VENEER EXTRA WIDE 54" ROUND TABLE
This is a beautiful Victorian Tiger Oak Quartersawn Solid and Veneer 54" Round table that opens to accept a leaf. We were very attracted to its classic octagonal column resting on a simple curving pedestal base rather than the kind of creepy animal claw bases we saw when we were looking for an antique oak dining table 30 years ago. We lost the leaf having moved twice since we purchased the table at the time we owned a Victorian home. But it would be easy to replace or replicate. The table is 30" tall with skirt 4 1/4" high. The table had a couple of repaired chips to the top when we bought it and over time it has another chip- please see the pics; t here are also some chips on the base- please see the pics. A ll are easily repaired- but we now live in a mid-20th century home and need to replace our Victorian with more contemporary ... morefu rniture.
