This auction is for a set of three vintage used Brown& Sharpe micrometers. Each in a wood(pine? box with the manufacturer's name printed on top and a content label on one end. Based on patent dates stamped into the micrometers, they were manufactured around 1902 and 1907. There is a partial mismatch between the box labels and model number of the micrometers. The micrometers are as follows: Outside Micrometer No. 48(1" to 2" in 0.0001" The patent date is Dec. 30. 1902. An owner's name is engraved into the anvil. The box is actually for a model No. 60. Outside Micrometer No. 13(0" to 1" in 0.0001" No patent date could be found on its body. The box is for a model No. 13. So the box matches the micrometer. The box lid end-stop is missing. Inside Micrometer(Unknown model number) 1" to 0" in 0.001" ... moreThe outside faces are curved. Suggesting this micrometer is used to measure the diameter of small round holes. A reading of 0" occurs when the faces are 1" apart. As the distance between the faces DECREASE, the reading INCREASES. The patent date is Jan 29, 1907. The box is actually for a model No. 59. The boxes are stained and dirty. All micrometer thimbles turn freely over their range. And their faces are smooth. There are scratches and scuff marks over their bodies. Item for sale: one Precision Stage XY& 2 Micrometer Mitutoyo for micro space traveling about 10mm. Good for lab machinist engineers tools parts(This left over part from a project that never finish. I am not sure if we got this new or used original. Or it was custom made, but I remember that we pay a lot more for what I am asking here, it just stay in box at the storage and it looks OK, just some light rust at the steel top bracket parts, but no effect at the movement of any parts) Here is all the information I got: This small stage it looks like was made very well heavy duty and it has many.many small precision parts. Unfortunately I don't have any detail information about this! I don't know who manufactured this and for what reason. You are viewing a Mitutoyo 0-1" and a Mitutoyo 1"2" set of Pana micrometers in used but great condition. They do not have any previous owners markings on them. There are 7 sets of anvils( flat. Spline, spherical, point, knife-edge, disk and blade) all in like new condition With the 1"2" mic. And a full set of thread anvils(6 sets) with the 0-1" There is also an adjusting wrench included with each. Both micrometers turn smooth and operate like they should. The 1"2" comes with a 1" thread standard and a 1" standard for setting the anvils. There is not much in the 0-1" or 1"2" range that you cannot check with these two micrometers. The micrometers have a non rotating spindle which makes it nice when using anvils such as the blade. All anvils will work in both micrometers. They ... morecome in the original Mitutoyo cases.
