THIS CALIPER IS IN NICE CONDITION AND MEASURES ACCURRATELY SHOWING VERY LITTLE USE. This is a really nice set of CRAFTMAN Dial Calipers. The dial shows 200 thousands. It goes from the top zero to hundred at the bottom. Then zero to 100 again back around to the top. Very easily read. It says that it measures.001 It has a nice roller to move distance and it has two locks to make things stay at a certain setting. These Calipers show outside demension and inside demension and also depth demension. Great for the person using acuate sizing. Make a nice gift, Really nice in your tool box. I can find NO damage! It is undesirable to have much backlash due to the lack of precision offered by the increased amount of play between gears. Certain gear designs can minimize or eliminate backlash. Double pinion anti-backlash systems have two round gears(also called pinions) in contact with the rack gear that extends down the length of the caliper itself. The two pinions have a lower chance of disengaging with the rack gear than a single gear, thereby keeping the caliper more accurate than a single gear anti-backlash system. The rack teeth point down to keep foreign matter from clogging the gear operations. This prevents measurement errors where metal chips could interfere with proper caliper operation.

Includes the original Etalon wooden box. Very. Very nice tool. Slides smooth. Jaws are sharp and show no light or gaps when held up to a light. Includes the original Etalon box. Which is in very good condition, with only some light shelf wear. The clasp and the hinge of the wood box are tight. No name or etchings on the calipers or the wood box. I honestly see NO signs of use. Please notice. These calipers have adjustable scales. This means. That the jaws can be reground, if it ever becomes necessary, and the scales adjusted to recalibrate the calipers-protecting your investment. Mitutoyo hole centre caliper. 536-106. As new.
This is a great tool: a hole centre vernier caliper with vertically adjustable left jaw. This feature enables the user to measure the absolute distance between two features on different planes. The left jaw can be set to as much as 35mm below the plane of the right jaw. Despite having to list this as used. It shows zero signs of wear. There were no fingerprints on the case where I bought it. No scratches or scuffs or the fine signs of even tender handling. The foam in the box looks new too. Some putz(me) snapped off one of the catches in his haste to see the gleaming contents of the box. I purchased this as part of a larger sale. There were two; This is the better one. No engraving.
