Pair of QUAD II Monobloc Valve Power Amplifiers QUAD 22 Control Unit All serviced by Quad This is a superb pair of QUAD II monobloc valve power amplifiers. Together with the matching QUAD 22 control unit. I have been using these amps for about 3 months(my own system has been packed away in a storage container following a house move) and they have performed faultlessly. The amplifiers were once owned by Rob Flain the manager of the IAG(QUAD) service department. The control unit was serviced by QUAD in 2013- see photo of invoice. The power amps have been serviced by Quad on two occasions- the most recent in 2006 when they were personally serviced by Rob Flain prior to sale- see photo of email from Rob Flain The valve sets are as follows Quad II 72851: 2 x KT66 GEC- GZ32 Mullard- 2 x EF 86 Mullard& GEC Quad II 76973: 2 x KT66 GEC- GZ32 Mullard- ... more2 x EF 86 Mullard Quad 22: 2 x EF 86 Mullard- 2 x ECC 83 Mullard All the valves have been recently tested and are in excellent condition The amplifiers are all boxed in the packaging that is used by the Quad service department to return items sent in for service. QUAD II Power Amplifiers Serial numbers are 72851 and 76973- which suggests that they are an original pair Note: If I wanted to mislead I have another amp serial number 72211 and I could easily have switched the plates and claimed this was a matched pair. But there isn't any point in doing so. C ontrary to what many people like to believe. When they left the factory there was never any such thing as a matched pair of Quad IIs. Each amp was tested separately and the plates with the serial numbers were attached when the amps were tested. Amps with consecutive numbers could be made weeks even months apart, as the plates were taken from a stock bin as required.
