It is in excellent pre-owned condition with no cracks. Chips, or crazing that I can see. It is signed"Sascha B" on the inside of the bowl. It is approximately 9" long by 6" wide. Vintage Mid Century Sascha Brastoff Ceramic "Midas" Freeform Bowl
This auction is for a vintage ceramic bowl from the studio of Sascha Brastoff. It is in the"Midas" pattern of gold on gold design. The design is actually more muted and delicate than it appears in the photos. The freeform edge of the bowl is dramatic and gives the bowl a different shape depending on from which angle you view it. It is in excellent pre-owned condition with no chips or cracks. There are some slight scratches in the delicate gold design. But they are small and do not detract from its display. Overall, it is a gorgeous piece in great shape for its age and the fact that the gold design is not protected by a thick shiny glaze. Ceramics, enamels on copper, and plastics of his own design and also worked with watercolors, charcoal, pastels, resin, fabrics, ceramics, metal sculptures and enamels. He was born Samuel Brostofsky in Cleveland. Ohio, one of eight children. At age 17, Brastoff studies dance with Edward Caton and eventually dances with the Cleveland Ballet for several seasons.In 1940, after attending Western Reserve School of Art in Cleveland, Brastoff moves to New York City. He goes to work for Macy's designing window displays. Same year Brastoff joins the Clay Club, 4 West 8th Street in Greenwich Village. The following year there is a sell out one man show of his terra cotta Whimsies; ... morepieces were purchased by the Whitney Museum, the Syracuse Museum and the Metropolitan Museum of Art.Brastoff enters the Army Air Force in 1942. Initially designing posters, he joins the ATC road show. He becomes well known for his comic interpretation of Carmen Miranda, called by theater legend Moss Hart as the"greatest sight laugh of this century. In 1944 Brastoff moves to California and signs a seven year contract with 20th Century Fox as a designer and entertainer. Brastoff opens his first ceramic plant in Los Angeles in 1947, producing hand painted earthenware. A year late six canapé trays entered into a Syracuse Museum competition win Best of Show for Pottery and a $100 award from the Harker Pottery Company. Nelson Rockefeller, a friend of Brastoff, understood the uniqueness of his talent and in 1952 he built a complex in Los Angeles, CA, to house the many creations Sascha was able to produce. The factory is destroyed by fire after only six months but next year a still larger 35,000 sq. ft. factory and show-room opens that eventually employs more than 100 people. In 1960 Brastoff's company begins to suffer from financial problems after years of success

Great Mid Century Modern Vintage Bowling Mantle Clock United Brunswick AMF
Here is a very cool vintage bowling clock dating back to the 1960's. Clock works flawlessly. The cord is original and in good condition. Size is 13 1/2" wide x 7 1/2" tall. Wood is in good vintage condition. Not mint by any means. It does show age.a bump on the top edge. A faint scratch to the left of the clock, and some finish loss to the base. EARLY CRIB Quilt Top from PA late 1800's to Turn of Century Primitive Vintage
Attached are photos of a hard to find early crib quilt top which dates from the late 1800's from PA. There are 96 patches. It is unwashed and offers a nice variety of fabrics of the era. It is hand pieced; You can notice that the back is clean without raveling. It is primitive in design in that it measures approx. 18 3/4" x 18 1/2"x 15 1/2' x 14 3/4. Thus it is not quite symmetical in design. Several patches were"squeezed in. Enjoy the variety of early fabrics. The border fabric measures 5 1/2" on the four sides. The solid pink fabric still retains it's original sheen. There is a small amt. of age spots as pictured. Enjoy this early and original textile from PA. There are lots of possibilities here! Plan on shipping of $6.50. I accept returns if I have misrepresented this item.

1976 Vintage PRISMA Clock Kirsch Hamilton Lighted Illuminated Mid-Century Modern
Scarce and desirable"Prisma" clock manufactured by Kirsch/Hamilton Associates. Inc. Cambridge, Massachusetts, 1976, serial number 6093. The clock has a bit of very mild surface wear to the metallic sides; a few very faint, superficial scuffs and unobtrusive minor scratches to Lucite front; and some fine hairlines to interior plastic backplate and smaller inner wheel. The switch on the reverse works, and both ballasts light up, as seen in the first photo. The operation of the clock itself, however, is intermittent. When I tested this at an estate sale some years ago, it worked fine, but when I got home, the clock made a humming sound but did not turn. When I've tried it from time to time since then, it runs on some occasions, but not on others, so it evidently needs cleaning or servicing. Apart from the faults noted above, it ... moreis very good, attractive cosmetic condition, and would be excellent as a"project, display piece, or for replacement parts(the thick Lucite lens is often prone to chipping at the edges and corners, of which there is no trace here) Please note also that the cord is quite short, so an extension cord will likely be necessary for use.
