They work. Each side focuses separately. They focus rings turn fairly easily. Just a little roughness. Images look clear and bright when looked through. The glass looks good to for its age. There is some dust inside the tubes. The body has signs of wear. One screw is missing on the left side. The left eye piece cup can be pulled off as the threads seem to be stripped. it is plastic/bakelite I believe) There is some adhesive that needs to be cleaned off the focus ring areas. This is from my father's estate. He was a ham from the 50's to the time he became a silent key 2 yrs. ago. He enjoyed collecting. Fixing, and operating old tube type radios. I've been a ham since 1994, so I should be able to answer any questions you might have. I've only operated late model transistor radios, so you might need a little patience. 1949 Signal Corps US Army OD Green Original Cabinet CH-219 of 189 Radio Crystals
We have here a 1949 Signal Corps US Army Cabinet CH-219 Radio Crystals. The case holds 200. Some are missing out of each case, there is a total of 189 crystals. The cabinet is in wonderful shape. Original rubber seal, original OD Green paint, metal tacked on sign, orange stamps, TESTED 9/49 and the one underneath it is Jan 1951, we think, it was double stamped and hard to read. It has only light wear. There are a few paint chips and surface scuffs, one small chip of wood on the corner of the locking lid. The metal bindings on the cabinet are in great shape, just some paint wear. The cases are the same. Surface scuffs from pulling them out and putting them back in, but still as sturdy as the day they were made. The cases that hold the crystals have a double folding lid. And a nice thick 1/8" wool felt on the cover and the holder. Each ... morecrystal has its own spot. One case has channel frequencies from 1690 to 4397.5. The other case has xtal. frequencies from 1690 to 4397.5. This is just in amazing shape for its age! A great military find for any collector! I think it's more numbers. The meters say Volts AC Rectifier Type Model 506, the one on the right is model 517. It has 2 cords on the side, one has a 2- pronged plug and the other cord is 2 bare wires. Vintage Army Signal Corps Frequency meter BC-906-D is a really neat antique to have and has been kept in good condition especially for age. Has ware to the case and handle but inside looks nice. The handle on top is ripped on one side. Latch on side works. Has a calibration chart on the inside with the date: November 6. 1944 and the serial number: 538. Really neat antique!
