WWII Antenna Tuning Unit US Army Signal Corp. BC-306-A This unit is original and in fantastic condition. Unknown if it works. But I see no damage and it seems complete. Hard to imagine upgrading on the condition. Update on 2/6/14- requests were made for pictures of the interior. Good news- the interior seems complete and perfect- even has original allen wrench(see pictures) Bad news- putting it back together I broke off the heads of(2) screws. 1940's WWII German Wehrmacht Signal Corps Trailer. Extremely Rare. Unrestored! On auction is a WWII German Army Signal Corps Trailer. The trailer is a Sd.Ah.25/2 Signal Corps trailer. HISTORY OF THE SD.AH.25/2 It was made by the firm of J. Durr& Son. Gmbh of Strassburg, Germany. The usual compliment of equipment was a soil tamper, long spade shovel, folding ladder, two drums each with 250 meters of trunk wire, 16 porcelain double-bell insulators, a safety belt, 1 pair of crampons, and a selection of tools and small parts. No equipment was present when purchased and no equipment is included in this auction. The trailer was usually towed by a Horch Kfz.15. This trailer was brought back to the United States by a Captain in the Army who was assigned to the occupation forces. After his tour he shipped this back to the states full of his ... morebelongings. I am the third owner of this trailer. Research indicates that there is not another one of these in the US and only 3 that I know of in the world. The trailer is is decent shape but will require moderate restoration to bring it back to its original condition. This includes the replacement of some of the steel bed supports and ornate door and hatch seams. There is some rust through on the lower support beams. The pictures show that the trailer has been painted a maroon color over the late war Normandy area camoflage pattern of tan and sea green. As with most WWII Wehrmacht products this was over engineered for a dispensible military trailer. The detail of the hinges. Latches and stops is remarkable. After getting the trailer I pressure washed it and found hastily painted allied stars on the sides and rear doors. These are still partially covered and intact as pictured. I purchased the trailer 6 years ago with the hope of restoring it and adding it to my collection of historic military vehicles. ORIGINAL WW2 US ARMY SIGNAL CORPS FIELD PHONE EE-8-B LEATHER CASE
Up for bid is an Original World War II United States Army SIGNAL CORPS Field Phone Model EE-8-B in Leather Case. It is in good condition for it's age. But does show signs of wear and use that can be seen in pictures taken. It still has the original phone and battery compartment, but does need a new cord and could be rewired if desired. The inside looks fairly clean and the shoulder strap is in tact. It is stamped with the Model Number and the US Armey Signal Corps on the front. The flap button is missing a piece of the clasp and does not close. The field phone in the case measures 9 1/2" tall and 8" wide. This is a very nice historical piece. Model 1881 for enlisted Calvary men: a uniquely distinct style of American Military headgear. It is complete. And in essentially new condition. Beautiful rich black pressed felt helmet body. Polished brass front insignia of a large spread eagle with crossed sabers and facing toward his clutched arrows. The top has an elegant brass eagle spike plume holder contains a Calvary yellow horsehair plume which falls past the tail of the helmet. The sides have rosettes of brass crossed sabers. Vintage Signal Corps US Army Tubes Vibrator in original metal organizer Box ROIS
This case was manufactured by Rois Mfg. Co. Inc in Philadelphia, PA and label states it includes tubes, vibrator, fuses, lamps. Case has loss of dark green paint and pitted on the top. Clasp closes the case securely. On the top when opened are 25 tubes. On the bottom of the case are 24 volt vibrator, 6 large tubes and one small one. No idea if these are original and does have a musty odor. Additionally, my home is not pet free and there may be stray cat hairs in the case. The card must have stated what was in the box at one time and it did say there were 2 vibrators but there is only 1. Measures 10.5" long, 5" wide and 3" high. The final piece needed to complete an advanced“US invasion bag” collection. Manufacture stamp shows April 1945. So this was clearly something created to help in the final battles in the Pacific War– ready in time to see some action on Okinawa and certainly something that would be of use in that ultimate D-Day- the anticipated invasion of Japan. The case is in great shape. All the rubber is clean and flexible and supple. No rips or tears or holes. Seams tight. The canvas straps are in great shape- strong and clean. Buckles are rust free. The cool part about this case is that– unlike the other Signal Corps rubber invasion bags we all know about– this one ... moreis built not just to transport the radio but built in such a way that you can operate the radio while it is still protected inside the bag. So the beach masters and assault troops could set up shop right on the wretched beachhead without fear of sea spray and sand destroying their comm gear. Near the rear of the case. The bag has a rubber sleeve to protect an AN-29-C antenna. Another rubber sleeve is up front to allow you to plug in a TS-13 handset or an HS-30 headset and T-17 microphone. There is a large flexible rubber cover on the front that allows the radio operator to adjust the power switch and crystal selector. And there is a clear glass(or plastic? window that enables you to see the indicating meter. You never have to open the bag to operate the radio. It is big enough to carry the BC 659 radio receiver/transmitter and the CS-79 battery case. Plus inside there is a pouch to safely carry some accessories. I’ve never seen another one of these cases. So now’s your chance to complete your invasion bag set. SCR-610 collection, or OPERATION DOWNFALL display. Army Signal Corps J-44 Telegraph Key 1940s vintage
Nice late 1940s vintage U.S. Army Signal Corps telegraph key. Type J-44. The J-44 consists of a J-37 straight key mounted on a specially-wired base with a on-off switch for keying a radiotelephone transmitter for voice operation. For Morse code operation of the transmitter the switch was left"off" and the telegraph key depressed to form the dots& dashes of code. This key is complete, all-original, and in good condition although it appears to have been used. The base has a stamp indicating that this particular key was accepted for service in 1948. Here is metal serial no. plate for mounting on a radio set. The plate measures 3-3/4" long by 2-3/8" The radio was made by Western Electric. Order No. 1870-Phila-42. Ask people familiar with telecommunications history and they’ll tell you that the first text message sent from a mobile phone was sent in 1993. But MuMoH has a phone that sent text messages more than 75 years before that! The field phone. Model 1917(and we’ve also seen model EE 3) provided American soldiers in WWI a portable telephone and telegraph communications in a single box. Cased in wood and carried by a leather shoulder strap, the battery powered phone could be carried into trenches or to base camps to provide communications. The phone also has a hand crank generator called a magneto for an additional power source. US infantry soldiers would deploy a twisted pair of wires from one location to another. After the wires were connected to a field phone on each end. Telegraph codes could be sent as far as 20 miles away, and voice communications would travel a somewhat shorter distance. Soon battlefields across Europe were strewn with wires. Vintage U.S. Army WWI Signal Corps Field Telephone D-14205 In good condition- ca. 1918 Solid oak box/case was painted dark green. Handset is metal painted black& bakelite& has the number"D 12024" stamped in it. Brass hook switch flips out and is in good condition. Cloth covered wires between phone and handset are still connected& in reasonably good shape. There is a metal plaque on the inside marked. Western Electric Company" Side crank is stiff but works. Schematics& instructions for model"D-14205" are under clear plastic on the inside of the lid. The metal plaque for the maker and model number is missing from the top of the lid. Lid snaps closed to be firmly latched. Someone wrote in cursive on the inside of the lid.
