When you look through the lenses though, there are very many black spots mostly on the left lens. You can still see through the binoculars, but the spots are distracting. We don't know if this is dusting or molding, ... morebut they are in the binoculars. This pair of binoculars was found in a musty garage and do carry a garage scent as well. The binoculars show wear in some slight staining on the leather and some paint has been removed off of the metal of the binoculars. The case is the original B&L case and is marked so. The case is faded and the leather has some scratching and the straps are beginning to crumble/ tear but are fully intact. Please look to our pictures for the best view on the item. No PG ID numbers were ever given these bags.but this one has what looks like SC and A initial in red inside of this very used bag. This Bag has two compartment's inside ... moreof it one side for the Pigeon and the other side for a map overlay book.a message book and pencil.the Message capsule could of been placed also in one of the outside pockets.shown in one of the photo's. Up for bids. is a vintage U.S.Army Signal Corps Spare Parts metal box. Someone has written"A-20" at the top. It is Case CY-684/GR. Order no. 3189- Phila-51-01. I'm thinking the"51" may indicate it was made in 1951. Made by Suckle Electronics Co. Phila) This padded box held spare tubes, vibrator, fuses, and lamps. To open it, you slide the button on the front to the left, and that releases the catch. The box measures 10" long, 5" wide and 3" tall. A bit of the finish is missing on the top. See the scans. This is an interesting between-the-wars U.S. Army Signal Corps collar disk insignia. This is the usual size and is a Type I gilt disk. But has unusual pebbling in the field and is pinback with an open safety catch. This came from the estate of a soldier who served in WWI and then in Hawaii and the Philippines during the 1920's, so I believe this to be theater made in the Philippines. XF condition. Having searched similar items on ebay I have noticed that the last numbers in the order number are usually the date it was introduced and in this case they are 1917 so possibly 1917 is the date. It is similar to. But more simple than all of the 1937/38 versions I have found so it would seem to be earlier but any advice would be welcome as I cant find anything earlier than 1935. Aluminum camera case with 2 locking latches, dimensions 21" x 8" x 13" Outside of case is scratched- normal wear and tear. Both latches are working properly. A lock is present- key is not available.
