David Brown Tractor 990 (Case), Diesel, 1966/67, 7 Foot Scraper Blade
We are selling our 1966-67 David Brown model 990 diesel tractor. It has newer rear tires. Starts right up and runs good. Comes with a 7' scraper blade that hasn't even had the paint worn off yet. Also comes with shop manual and hydraulics manual. The tractor has a few issues that we'd like to make sure that you're award of: 1) Power steering not working 2) It needs exhaust valve stem seals(that's where the black spots on hood come from) 3) The clutch is very stiff in the second stage(for the transmission) 4) The left brake doesn't work and the brake pedals don't return after use 5) The hydraulics work great for lifting but are very slow for pushing down 6) the front tires hold air just fine but are not ag-style steer tires 7) The secondary fuel filter O-ring is bad and it drips some fuel(I have replacements but ... moreit's such a bear to bleed the fuel system I find it easier to just accept a fuel loss of a quart a month) The positive facts about the tractor: 1. The engine run good with good power and does not smoke 2. I've never had to add oil to the engine 3. Starts right up 4. 2 Speed PTO 5. 6 Speed Transmission 6. The back tires are almost new 7. The scraper blade is also almost new& still has most of it's paint. All in all it's a good tractor but needs a little TLC.
