VINTAGE FORD 8N STEERING GEAR SECTOR PACKING RETAINER IN ORIGINAL FORD PACKAGE
Vintage original Ford Genuine Tractor Parts red package marked“STEERING GEAR Sector Packing Retainer 8N-3591 2 pieces” with the two original packings and metal retainers. The red and white package is faded and has stains from the two packings. The package is not ripped or torn on the front but has been opened on the back side as shown. Written in ink on the package is“Ford Tractor 1949” Although these are new old stock. The seals are hard and dry and are for collector value, display only. These seals are probably 60 years old, more or less. DO NOT buy these seals to replace your leaky sector seals in your 9N, 2N OR 8N tractor, you should buy new seals elsewhere, I do not sell new seals. Please see the photos for condition. No reserve. I bought an Oliver Super 55 in pretty rough condition. After several weeks of use the steering gear assembly broke. Instead of trying to fix it I bought a whole new assembly. Several weeks later the engine blew. I removed the steering gear assembly and junked the tractor. So now I have the complete steering assembly which has less than 20 hours on it. I think I paid around $550 for it.
