Rare Vintage Automobile / Tractor Cast Iron Steering Wheel Suicide Spinner Knob
Up for bids is a very old cast iron and pressed steel steering wheel suicide spinner knob as pictured. These were used so you could steer your vehicle using just one hand. I know these were illegal in some states for driving unless you had a physical handicap and needed to use one. These were also very popular on farm tractors which made steering much easier on the old tractors. It still has most of its original white colored paint but the steering knob which was originally a red or maroon color only has a little paint left as pictured. It looks like it was used quite a bit and because it has some pitting on the knob I think it probably came off of an old farm tractor or car with an open top which would have spent more time out in the rain and snow than it would have if it would have been inside a car or truck with a roof. This is a really neat original cast metal name tag emblem from an Allis Chalmers Motor Control panel. It measures about 2 x 7 1/2 inches and is in great shape as can be seen. There are no cracks. Breaks, or repairs of any kind. It would polish up very nicely and would be an eye catching addition to your Allis Chalmers memoribilia collectionor display. Up for Auction is a nice Antique John Deere Tractor. This tractor has so much detail it is hard to show it all. Please review the pictures carefully to see how detailed it is. Tractor measures 8-1/2" long and is 5 inches wide. Front axle is a little wobbily but I don't know if that is normal for these wide front tractors. The steering wheel turns the front axle freely. International Farmall M tractor M&W Gear Company 9 speed.Attention. Tractor collectors, farmers, farm owners. Here is an IH M parts tractor I have up for sale. It is a 1941 model the S.N. is 43669. This tractor is for parts mainly. I saved it from the scrap man. I does not run. The motor is stuck. It is mostly complete, missing the Carb. WHAT YOU SEE IS WHAT YOU GET. It has. A, nine speed transmission. I am not for positive that it is M&W as it is the cable shift type. I have heard that Tractor Supply Co. made a nine speed but not for sure. The cable is free and it seems like it would go into gear ok. It also has some interesting aftermarket disc brakes. They don’t look I.H. and I don’t know that M-W made disc brakes. Maybe Tractor Supply? It has a friction throttle. I don’t know that it is a M&W. It also has an odd aftermarket ... moreseat assembly. It has the distributor& starter. The tin looks good. The front grill is pushed in a little. The tank looks pretty good on the outside but the inside has some stinky old gas and probably needs boiled out. I don’t know about the radiator. Tires are round and black, and will hold air long enough to load. 1 rear rim is not so good, the other looks to be good. The 1 front rim looks ok. Here is a chance to pick up some getting harder to find M&W parts. I would part it out but would prefer to sell as a unit. Due to time constraints. If you have any questions please ask.
