Rare 1940's Counter Penny Arcade Game by Groetchen Tool & Mfg. Co.
Extremely scarce 1940's Counter Coin Operated Penny Arcade Game by Groetchen Tool& Mfg. Co. This company released many different machines starting in 1930. The machine measures 19-1/4" high x 10-1/4" deep x 14" long approx. It is in good to very good condition with some paint wear. Cracked glass on the upper left corner, and no longer has the original balls. It has one lead ball which looks like a bb. The back wood cover slips in and should lock, but the mechanism at the top doesn't quite reach to lock the back. To operate, a penny would be put into slot to the left bottom of the front of the machine, then the brass lever on the right would be cranked which in turn drops a ball in the upper slot just to the left of the word"the" which then drops to the metal channels on the face and the red knob is turned ... moreback and forth to facilitate the ball going into the mouth. This is a clear date. Liberty Capped Large Cent! See the pictures-these are the actual pictures of the item. The Edge Reads fairly well; ONE HUNDRED FOR A DOLLAR" This is a nice coin, and is one of the very first Coins minted by the United States. The United States started minting coinage in 1793. This is a 1794.This coin still retains some detail-like a clear date and lettered edge. This piece also features a counter stamp on the back side of the coin-which is a mark the shops excepting the coin would leave when they test the metal to make sure it was real which leaves a unique shop mark called a"Chop Mark" that makes this piece cool because it shows the coin was used in 1794. Also note that some chop marks can be traced(I have not done the research but that would enhance the coin value if we knew the shop that left the mark) ... moreThe mark is a circle shape which may have had initials inside but I can't tell due to wear. Madonna True Blue (3D) Silhouette Cassette Counter Display-Standee-1986 Sire-USA
For sale is a: Madonna"TRUE BLUE" Canada-USA-International cover versions: Store Cassette Counter Display Stand(Standee) with Madonna in a 3D like mounting. I believe this stand never came with the cassette(as the lid does not close) Differentiating between International Cover for True Blue: In the US and Canada. The cover did not have any logo, but in the European nations, they were sold with Madonna's name and album title on the cover. International Display details: Madonna is mounted to a pleat like slanted card(plinth) and when pushed down it comes forward to give it the 3D L@K when displayed. Lays flat when not being displayed except cassette display protrudes. Cassette USA(not included in this auction) Sire Records USA 1986 True Blue 9-25442-4 Sire Easel Style Stand seems okay where glued at the seam. Is worn around the ... moreedges(see scan) Please note that the cassette lid can be exchanged with any other standard lid. However, I did not want to take away the originality. The case does not snap closed. I have tried everything. The case has slight imperfections with stress marks and a small light superficial crack. Shows well and does have slight imperfections. However, for the 27 year age of this standee, is in good to excellent condition. This has been stored well and flat. The actual stand Artwork itself is in excellent condition with the imperfections being to the bottom of the stand where it is not really visible.
