This RARE 1955 Vintage F-6 Geiger Counter with Wand would make for an awesome prop. Piece of art or collectors item! I have no idea if it actually works. As I have no"B" batteries nor have ever heard of them- as such, it is being sold as is. Here is what is said about this RARE item online: The Model F-6 was introduced in 1955. It was a portable Geiger counter with an external probe. It had a large meter and built-in loudspeaker for aural indications. The probe detects both beta and gamma. Probe detects beta without the usual window opening and thus is dust free and easy to decontaminate. It was sensitive from 500-5.000 cpm. It weighs 7.5 lbs. It operates on 900 volts. This counter was removed because of a product measuring problem. It was then replaced with a new unit of the same part number. After this did not fix the problem they looked to learn that the encoder was ready to fall off of its mounting arm. Next they used a wrench to tighten the encoder on its bracket. Problem solved. It was decided that they would leave the new counter in place and put this used counter on the shelf. Later this machine received a PLC which made these units obsolete. It was nice of them to attach a note to this unit describing its history. Now the entire machine is obsolete and we are parting it out as well as selling all of the many spare parts which we are slowly ... moreunpacking. Keep watching as I list them in the future. Commercial addresses with a way to remove the product from a freight truck or freight terminals are the cheapest to ship to. Stainless Steel Foodservice Counter Equipment Stand This unit was custom made for use in a fast food restaurant. It certainly has lots more life to go and is really well made and heavy duty. Approximate dimensions and related details: Top: 60" ... morewide x 35.5" deep The counter top is 31" high from the floor with the adjustable legs set at their current height(the legs in back have flat discs at the bottom and the ones in front don't) There are various screw holes and cutouts in the top as seen in the pictures. The one in the middle front is 11.75" wide x 9" deep and the left side is 24.25" from the counter's left side The front cutout in the top is the top of a central open compartment that is 11.75" wide x 17" deep x 22.5" high(the depth is partially under the counter top) There is a 9.5" high removable panel at the bottom front of that compartment Left hand storage underneath: 3 shelves. The top two are 22" wide x 12" deep x 5" high each, the bottom one is 22" wide x 28.5" deep x 7" high and it has a hinge and magnetic catch mounted for a door which is now missing. There is a cutout in back and in the bottom, no doubt for power cables or hoses. The right hand storage compartment underneath is 22" wide x 28.5" deep x 20" high The back of the counter overhangs the cabinetry underneath by 6" There is a stainless enclosure
