Scale reads from 30-160 F. Heavy unit weighs around 4 lbs. In as found used condition with nice aged patina. Glass face and tube not broken. Check out my other items! Selling a 1950's vintage Royco Instruments Industrial Thermometer in Dovetailed Wood Box. It was explained to me that this item was used to measure extreme temperatures in the manufacture of steel bearings. The thermometer has a chrome-plated steel sleeve that protects the probe. The housing is also made of chrome-plated steel. The faceplate is made of plastic and the temperature gauge underneath the faceplate appears to be damaged in several areas. I just noticed that the housing has magnetic properties. The temperature gauge is 7 3/4 inches long. The faceplate is 2 3/4 inches in diameter. This Royco Instrument is housed in a dovetailed wood box that measures 9 inches long. 3 3/4 inches wide and stands 3 1/2 inches high. It has a sliding wood cover. The box is in very good condition. As you can see by the patina on the brass. This is a very old industrial thermometer. I am guessing but I think this was used to measure the temp. of a tank or container. The longest part measures 10- 1/2 inches. The el portion 4- 1/2 inches. The diameter of the long portion is 1- 3/8 inches. What I can see of the glass portion measures 7 inches. The wall base and the sleeve have 1 inch threading and are iron. The base is cast and has 3 holes of 3/8 inch for attaching to the wall. As you can see in the pics, there is a brass button that relays the temp of the wall back to the thermometer. The Thermometer brass backplate reads from 38 degrees below zero to 128 degrees above Fahrenheit. The thermometer portion has a twist cover whereby, by twisting the cover encloses the thermometer. Early 1900s Hohmann Maurer C H Wagner Brass Steam Boiler Industrial Thermometer
Heavy Brass steam thermometer made by Hohmann& Maurer measures 10.75" x 2.25" and is in good. Pre-owned condition. It is tarnished& dirty and there are tool marks on the back around the fittings but otherwise appears undamaged. The glass face plate is intact as is the glass thermometer which is bent to extend down into the back shaft and when you grip the shaft with a bare hand, you can actually watch the mercury rise. There are areas of hard, red melted substance on the upper face frame that I was able to remove with a little gentle force but some still remains, visible in the photos. Up for auction is this huge old industrial sized antique Partlow thermometer. It is about 8 1/2 inches in diameter and comes with about 20 feet of copper lead with the probe on the end of it. It has the original Partlow tag on it and model number tag attached to the sides. it has a black back and it is pretty heavy duty. This would be a great as a display or your own"steampunk" project. I presume it works as the indicator does change but as you see it is reading about 80 degrees now however it is about 50 right now as I write this so I am selling it as is. That it was originally attached to a drum with a water jacket around it that was used to melt chocolate. It was reportedly from the 1930s. Antique Industrial Pyrometer. Measures approx 6"x5"x3" Dial read"hundreds degrees centigrade" and measures up to 14. It has a spigot housing underneath. Dont know how old it is or if it works but it is in fair condition apart from a few scuffs on the black painted facia which also has a splodge of white paint(probably removable) underneath it has two plastic knobs. The red one is broken away completely and is loose inside, the black one is tight but the base of the knob is broken. An interesting piece.

i could not find another one like it on ebay now nor could i find any listed in completed listings. i have not seen one like it before either. it works as i have seen the temperature changing on it according to the weather. has 2 and 3 digit phone numbers listed for the most part on the back so you know it is early. nice to add to your collection. i believe it was to be used on a desk. very unique. all sales final. all items are sold as is as found. item is pictured. should clean up nice i think with some scratch cover or just leave alone. its up to you. old use and patina adds to it i think.
