HICKOK 600A DYNAMIC MUTUAL CONDUCTANCE TUBE TESTER AMP HI-FI TESTED AGAINST 539C
DESCRIPTION* Here's a decent Hickok 600A tube tester I have used for several years testing only some simple guitar-amp tubes: 6L6. 12AX7, 12AU7's. etc. I'm only selling it because I recently bought a calibrated 539C tester. It would continue to serve it purpose well as a"service tester" determining if tubes are shorted, and a general good vs bad idea if a tube is usable or not. I would not rely on it for matching tubes or for selling tubes based on a specific Gm output. I would question it's accuracy. It could probably be calibrated though to achieve more accurate results(it's never been calibrated to my knowledge) In fact. Just to see how it compared. I tested 2 of the same tubes both on this tester and my recently calibrated Hickok 539C. The tubes I checked were a 12AU7 and a 6L6. Here's how they compared: ... more6L6- on this 600A = 4.300 Gm 6L6- on 539C = 5.750 Gm(where 539C says Min. for 6L6 is 3.300) 12AU7- on this 600A = 1.900/ 2,000 12AU7- on 539C = 2.600/ 2,700(where 539C says Min. for 12AU7 is 1.950/1,950) So based on these readings it looks like you have a conservative margin for error to your advantage on this 600A(assuming the 539C is accurate) Both of these tubes read well into the Green"Good" range on the 600A at that. Also. A new power cord has been installed recently. It has a grounded-plug but the ground wire for some reason is not attached. So, I imagine it could still be attached and grounded if so desired. The tube-data chart does not roll properly when installed in the tester- it binds. If you remove it from the tester you can get it to reach both ends of it's chart though with no problem. For the time I used it, I just kept it out of the tester for that reason. This tester will ship completely assembled though as seen in the first 3 photos. CONDTION: It is in fair condition in its original wood case and indicates that it will power up. Up for sale a Mercury 1100 Tube Tester from my collection. These are great simple small testers. Very easy to use, set 3 dials from the settings in the book& throw a switch, that simple. It tests for Shorts, Leakage& Quality, it will test pretty much all the common makes of tube in guitar, bass amps inc. KT66/88s& most radio ones but not the old 4 pins. Pics show testing a 12ax7& a KT88& the results are the same as my main tester. Also the shorts light working& the very clean inside. This Mercury also has the extension adapters for testing TV tubes which they don't all have, although these are untested as I don't have any tubes. Tester is in very good condition with all original parts. I didn't need to change anything it works great, just the odd scratch& scuff& wear from age,the 3rd knob has a ... morepiece broken off the top but doesn't affect its use, case is in very good condition. This is fully tested& calibrated& its fully working. Comes with a copy of the original manual& the original charts inc. schematics& loads of other paperwork inc. chart updates& a tube substitution guide. This runs on 110V so will need a step down transformer easily available from ebay or Maplins. This is an honestly listed working tester. Up for sale is a vintage Seco Model 1100 Tube Tester. It was a store display model and is quite large with many different tube models it tests. It appears to be in good condition. Though I have not tested it, other than testing one tube, and the needle on the meter moved, but I am in no way an expert, and am not sure if it is fully functioning correctly. tube tester is being sold in"as is" untested" condition. The back features a scroll featuring the different model tubes and settings for testing. it also lights up for easy reading. The plastic light cover has some crackling/cracks on the it due to age(please see all pictures for any condition issues) but other wear is fairly minor, and par for the course when dealing with vintage items. HICKOK TV-7 B vacuum tube tester, Calibrated and Refurbed
Offered is a HICKOK brand TV-7/B vacuum tube tester. Recently re-calibrated and refurbished. This one is in nice cosmetic condition. The outer case shows the usual wear. Small scratches, nicks etc, but has its original paint and is in nice condition overall. The tester is in very good cosmetic condition as well, showing usage, but not abuse. There is no need to go into the details about the TV-7 as there is lots of information here on Ebay and elsewhere on the internet. There's lot of them out there. This tester has had a complete repair, recalibration and refurbishment from the great Dan Nelson of Chandler Arizona. Dan specializes only in TV-7's. He had done maybe 20 of them for me and many more besides mine. In addition to the calibration, this one has had its 7,8 and 9pin sockets replaced. These are usually bad on 9 out of 10 testers ... morethat are sold on Ebay and of all of the testers I have owned over the years only one or two did not require replacement. Ferrite beads have been added to the 9-pin socket. These were added to the TV-7/D model specifically to prevent oscillation of high gain tube like 6DJ8's and Western 417A's. They have been added here for the same reason. Both of the rectifiers have been replaced, so the unit now has a fresh#83 and 5Y3. Caps, resistors and other parts have been replaced as necessary. This unit works VERY well and should be good for another decade of use. The total repair bill was around $280.00. If you are looking for a good serviceable vacuum tube tester, then perhaps this one is for you.

Here's the famous AN/USM-3A tool-test set with the Weston designedTV-4A/U Tube Tester. This portable kit gave the Navy tech about all of the tools he might need to repair most shipboard radio equipment. THis one is missing some of the accesssories and the hand tools. The case is in"well used" condition but it's not bent up. One of the latches is missing. The TV-4A/U tube tester is in very nice condition and it works fine. It doesn't have the test cards but I'm including the test card data. I don't know if this would be anything that you vintage tube guys would be interested in. Im retiring a tube tester. This is the original cord. It says"Hickok" on the plug and it is a 2 conductor non polarized type. Honesty. I wouldn't hesitate to use this cord on any of my stuff. Its not cracked and it is very soft the flexible. The cord is right around 7 feet long. It may be the finishing touch to that super expensive Hickok tester that has a replacement cord that just doesn't look correct. Last but not least is this nice looking faceplate to the 6000A Hickok. I have left a few trinket items on it as you can see. The plate is very nice. All the writing is in excellent shape. Even at the top where is says"Shunt" and"Bias" those are bold too but the flash makes it look like they are missing. Edges look nice. No pry marks or bends.
