TV-2C/U Military Army Tube Tester TV-2(Hickok) Working Great Condition This is the granddaddy of all the military-grade tube-testers. I purchased this straight from the original owner a year or two ago. It is in amazing un-molested condition with the original documentation. I have printed an additional chart for tube test settings. The roller chart is intact and works. This unit is very easy to use once you get the hang of it. You just dial in the settings according to the different columns. The meters all respond and appear to be accurate. I have not performed a calibration as the unit appeared not to need one since I received it. The manual details the process of how to do this if ever necessary. You will notice that the meter reads percent quality instead of Gm. There is an easy to use formula to convert and information regarding this ... moreonline. The condition is overall really great. One of the rubber coverings for the red test lead is coming off. I would advise just putting two new in. I never needed to use this so I left it alone. As you can see in two of the pictures I was able to test some tubes for you. This EICO 666 belonged to an avid radio operator here in Central IL. It's in overall pretty good shape for its age(SN-1007) The face is clean and appears to be all original knobs. Buttons& switches. The unit has been powered up and appears to be in operating condition. The outside metal case does show signs of wear, but could easily be painted if you wish to do that. Also included is a very nice copy of the owners manual with full operation detail as well as tube charts(including tube update information) In addition, there is a supplemental tube test box for additional tube testing. Sencore is known for making very high quality test equipment- the TC 142 is one of their best. I tested six different NEW tubes of different uses, 6BQ6, 6SQ7, 5Y3, 6FQ7, 12AU7 and 6AQ5. I then tested them on my Western Electric/Hickok KS-15750. They tested very close. It's very clean, socket pins are nice and tight so they grip the tube pins tightly. The unit is in very good shape both mechanically and electrically and even the rubber feet on the bottom of the case show no or very little wear. It definitely was a shop unit not used in a service truck and doesn't seem to have been used that much. It is used but I've never seen one in such like new shape. Westmore 501 same as Triplett 3444 mutual conductance tube tester
Here is a Westmore 501 tube tester. From what I have found it is almost identical to the Triplett 3444 tester but made for the government. You can research that more if needed. I assume if you are bidding you know what a great tube tester these are. I have had it for about a dozen years and got it from an old ham operator. I can't tell you much about the calibration since I have never had it calibrated. It does seem to all work fine and I have used it to test many tubes like 6SN7's for my Mcintosh amplifiers and they fall into the normal ranges. The case is in nice condition with a few worn corners. The panel is in excellent condition apart from some scuffs on the bottom left corner this tester looks almost new. A close up inspection of the tube sockets reveals very little use and the meter is crystal clear. There are 11 test sockets on the panel and the instructions with test data are attached to the lid with the original page holder. This is a well respected. Portable and easy tester to use and was the choice of many techs back in the 1960's-1970's due to its excellent Grid Leakage/Shorts test capabilities. Dimensions: 11" W x 10" D x 4" H. This is one of the first tube testers that I ever bought and I purchased the all inclusive complete manual after I bought the tester. This is for a Hickok model 6000A micromha tube tester. This tester looks to be in very good condition. I know nothing about these so ill describe the best I can. The only fault I see is a little wear on the red outside of the case. I did not plug the tester in because I would not know what happens anyway. I can not imagine it not working as clean as it is. KS-15750-L2 Western Electric mutual conductance tube tester made by Hickok
Up for auction is a model number KS-15750-L2 tube tester made for Western Electric by Hickok. It is being sold as-is and untested(untestable due to the frozen switch) It is missing the rectifier tubes. The roll chart and many of the front panel screws. The short/tube test switch is frozen solid. All other switches and pots move freely. The filament switch is a little gummy feeling. It feels like the shaft needs lubricating. The case paint is scratched, stained and oxidized and the front panel needs cleaning. Note: Those things that look like drops of rain on the front panel are drops of rain on the front panel. Just started to rain when I took the pictures, it is pouring now! The sun was out when I took the rest of the pictures so nothing got wet underneath. This auction is on a used. Vintage Heathkit TC-2 emission vacuum tube tester. It has been tested with a few different type tubes and appears to be working properly. The face of the actual tester is very clean, with the only notable issue being a fine crack about 2" on the meter lens, along with some minor scuffing and scratches. Not as bad as it sounds, as the meter can still be read just fine. The meter is made by Simpson for Heathkit and works properly. The case shows normal wear and tear but still looks good and is structurally sound. Comes with all paperwork shown, along with an adapter for picture tubes. Comes with sheet for determining how to test certain tubes. That sheet has some wear and tears/creases on it. But is very readable. Vintage Tube Tester - Radiotechnic Laboratory - 1942 - It Works!
This is a vintage radio tube tester. It's"The Radiotechnic Laboratory Model L" It's all original and works. I was able to put a good tube in and get a good reading(see photos) And also put a bad tube in and got a bad reading and lit up the"short circuits and loose elements" neon bulb. A chart is attached to the inside of the case, which tells you what dial settings to use based on the tube type. I don't know anything about this stuff, and I was able to use in within 5 minutes- there are step by step instructions printed onto the face of the tester area. The case is rough. It still attaches. Buckles and and holds together fine. It's just very dusty and musty smelling, has a bunch of loose material peeling away, and has a few holes in the case(see photos) There is an empty compartment in the inside of the ... morelid. TV-2 Tube Tester Percent Quality Digital Meter 0-150%
This is a TV-2 Tube Tester Percent Quality Digital Meter. I made a few of these a few years back and this is the last one. The TV-2 Percent Quality is almost impossible to find now and if you find one. It is expensive. The original percent quality was 100 uA full scale, 250 ohms, and scaled 0-150. This meter will read 0-150% with the proper shunt and series resistors. You will have supply a 150 ohm shunt and 100 ohm series resistor. I used ¼% resistors for the best accuracy. Also a 9 VDC supply will be required for the meter. I mounted a 9 VDC AC adapter inside the TV-2 and wired the primary to the TV-2 On-Off power switch. Please see an example of one TV-2C/U testers with this style of digital meter. Please be advised you will have to supply some common parts and do some minor wiring. Only the meter and plastic plate will be furnished. ... moreI will provide a paper showing how the resistors were calculated. This digital meter worked very well and may be more accurate than the original percent quality meter. The photo of the meter showing 150, is when the meter had 100 uA applied to the meter and resistors. If for any reason there is a problem whether it is with the item. This is a CRT(cathode ray tube(TV) tester and does NOT test audio tubes. You just don't find them this nice! B&K model 465 for color or b/w televisions/arcade monitors Untested except for power up and I checked the voltage and it is well within range(see pic) Unable to test further but it looks barely used. Has a small scuff and stain on top cover(see pics) and some light surface rust on hinges and latch that will probably come off easily. Comes with 3 adapters. This is a complete test set of good quality equipment for the radio hobbyist. First is a Precision 640 Cathode Conductance Tube Tester in good operating condition(will test most tubes made also with adapter for newer tubes) Next is an Elenco SG-9500 Signal Generator(100 khz-150 mhz range) in good operating condition(also has freq counter built in 10hz-150 mhz range) Next is a Tektronix/Sony 323 oscilloscope in good operating condition(5 MHZ bandwidth. 1X/10X PROBE included) Next is a Precision 625NA VOM with 10kohm/20kohm/volt DC, and 5kohm/volt AC and last is an RCA WC-98C VTVM in good operating condition. With this equipment, you can align and repair most antique radios. Most of the manuals are on BAMA and I can send you PDFs of the ones that aren't. All of this equipment works. There are some physical imperfections but nothing serious. Scratches and scrapes on the tube tester and roll chart is stiff. Volt ohm Meter has some scratches, but no cracks. Elenco Sig gen is near perfect. The top cover for the scope has a crack in it(see picture) The VTVM and the VOM both have new batteries(VOM battery is $29! Vintage MERCURY/SYLVANIA Tube Tester
This is a Mercury Tube Tester with Sylvania advertising. Guessing late 1950's or 1960's. Could not find any dates nor could I find any info on this particular model, you collector's and electronic's wizards will know what this is. The Serial Number is 3270042. It powers up. Red light on panel comes on as well as others, top advertising sign lights as it should. When I put tube in and press check button, needle moves as it should to check tube, see picture) It is important that you realize I know nothing about this item, or if it works correctly. The meter setting knob does not move the needle as instructions state when turned, and its knob is loose. When looking from bottom inside up to underside of control panel it appears all wiring is original and intact, but there is one red wire hanging loose, am guessing it the meter ... moresetting knob power. Also the bottom door has no key so it swings open or closed on its own. My opinion is that this item is all intact and most likely will work perfectly with a bit of help from someone to service it. I took 2 photos from inside bottom up so you could see wiring. This item is 62 inches high. Not that heavy, probably 60 pounds or so, it will break down into 2 pieces, the sign at top will come off. Up for auction is a EICO model 625 emission tube tester with a EICO 610 adapter. This vintage Tube Tester was designed to test practically all vintage radio. Jukebox, guitar amplifier and television receiving tubes and a few transmitting tubes. The main unit is a Model 625. Made by EICO, Electronic Instrument Co. The EICO 625 has many several tube sockets including ones for 4 and 5-pin tubes. The additional EICO Tube Tester Adapter model 610, has a 5 Pin Nuvistor, 7 Pin, Nuvistor, a Novar, a 12 Pin Compactron and a 10 Pin Miniature. The adaptor consists of inter-wired sockets, plus a 9-wire cable terminated in a 9-pin miniature plug that is inserted in the socket on the tube tester. A tenth connection is provided by a capterminal on the adaptor to which is connected a grid cap lead of the tube tester. The normally blank key space on the compactron ... moresocket in the adaptor is drilled to permit a compactron to be inserted in the socket with the key at any desired position, so as to permit all sections of the compactron to be tested without switching. Main unit features Speed type lever switches for speed and accuracy. Individual tube element testing, designed to accommodate tubes that came out after the machine was produced. This is the actual item you will receive it has NO battery or bulb and I do not know if its working or not I have no way of testing this item. The back panel inside has summary of item some of it has; A No. 532 Burgess 4 1/2 volt battery or equivalent to operate. Use only a No. 48 bulb when replacement is needed. This pocket size instrument will only check heater continuity of those tubes commonly used in radio or TV receivers with series connected heaters. This item measures 2 5/8 x 3 3/4 inch in size. The one side of box has General Electric patent pending and on the other side it has 3 places to insert different tubes. On one edge it also has a place for a insert of some type of tube.
