Up for bid is an antique Weston Electrical Instrument Corp. tube tester/analyzer. Model 547 No. 24949. I found this tester at an estate sale and it had previously been owned by a collector. I believe the tester is from the late 1920's. I cannot check exactly how the tester is supposed to work. Because it did not come with any sort of manual. However, I have checked each of the gauges individually, and each of them works properly. All of the internal electrical parts look to be original to me. Though one of the push buttons seems to have been replaced at some point. The tube tester requires a 3 volt battery, and I don't know if the battery holder is original, but it looks to be. The switches and knobs all move freely and the cord looks to be in good shape considering how old it is. Overall. It is in great condition for it's age. ... moreThe tester comes in a black bakelite case. The case is slightly chipped and scratched(see the pictures) The case has a leather handle. Which is very sturdy, though it seems to have been repaired at some point. The clasps on the case are all solid and close tightly. The case is missing one of it's legs though. The tester is 12.5" by 9.25" by 4" I've described the item to the best of my ability and have taken a lot of pictures of it. The pictures are an important part of the description. And everything is as it appears in the pictures. The item is being sold as is( for parts or repair) because of it's age and no returns will be accepted.

I did not plug it in as I didn't want to have any issues with the machine. I will leave the winning bidder to determine its working status. I was told it was in working order when I bought it. Tester appears to be complete, no missing knobs, no breaks in components. The case seems to be made out of solid oak wood. The case has normal wear, scuffs, scratches no breaks in the wood. The carrying handle seems to be made out of bake lite and is in very nice unbroken condition. There is a copy of operating instructions for this tester. Here is a vintage Hickok model 209A VTVM vacuum tube voltmeter and capacitance capacitor tester meter. In good to VG physical condition, and sort-of-working electrical condition- both the"center zero" and regular"zero" functions work fine, meter needle moves smoothly and evenly throughout entire range, all tubes test strong, and all components(except power cord) look original so may well need some replacing of out-of-spec capacitors and resistors, so selling as a to-repair set- but you're off to a good start with this one. No probes or paperwork. Very large and fairly heavy, they don't make'em like this anymore, and the huge analog meter can be seen across any room!

Heathkit TC3 Tube Tester Used
Used Tube tester that has a decent reputation today for general tube testing. This is not a laboratory grade tube tester but very good for finding out good/bad tubes and for detecting leaks and shorts on a tube. It has data to test 4. 5, 6,7and 8 pin large base tubes. It also tests common 7 and 9 pin miniature tubes. I have only tested operation of the tester but have not tried to calibrate it. The lead wire for the grid cap is rotten and needs to be replaced. Cabinet and faceplate are dirty and will clean up nicely with some light soap and water. Tube data roll appear complete and operates smoothly. The line cord also needs to be replaced. George Kaye Audio Labs Small signal tube checker Extremely rare audiophile grade small signal tube tester. This is a really cool unit that not only allows you to match preamp tubes for gain and output. But also to audio test them for microphonics using headphones or the built in speaker; even a scope output to see the tube's actual wave! You can even hook up a signal generator or music source to the input and listen to/see the tube's response. It is in good cosmetic shape considering the age of the unit. Some scratches. This tester does preform all the tests. And functions in all positions. I have noticed the high gain microphonic test to be very sensitive. Some tubes that would work in most amp positions seem exhibit some microphonic tendencies in this circuit. It could need some adjustment. Or it might be perfectly fine. Maybe that's ... morewhat makes this tester such a good mousetrap for tube screening! I am listing and selling it for use as is. With no reserve and no returns since I don't have any way of ensuring that it is 100% calibrated after all these years though all the basic functions do seem to work. Up for auction is an ex-military TV-7D/ U vacuum tube tester made in the USA by Polartron Inc. This equipment is in super nice undamaged or corroded condition and comes with an operation/vacuum tube data manual and a couple of test leads. I must confess to knowing nothing about this equipment. Or more importantly how to test it for you. As one of the screws was loose it was necessary to remove the faceplate and reinstall a small nut inside. While I had it apart I thought it a good idea to take some pictures of the“guts” of this thing to show you that there are no burned, smashed or missing parts. As you can clearly see it is nice and clean in there. I plugged it in and“fiddled” around until I got some lights to come on! I noticed that the Pilot light varies in intensity when rotating the“Line Adjust” knob; I hope that means something to you. ... moreIt wouldn’t hurt to replace the power cord as this one looks like it may have been squished between the base and lid at some point. Which covers thousands of tubes, and a copy of the Service Manual, which includes the full calibration instructions and instructions of how to build a calibration test module. All the sockets are nice and tight and all the switches and knobs operate as they should. Shorts light works. Life test switch works- this is an awesome, quick and easy to use tube tester. Good condition for age. But there are a couple of things I want to point-out. There are some marks on the meter cover, which look like someone has stuck something sticky on it. There is also a small crack in the meter cover, but neither of these things affect the way the meter or this tester works. The Triplett 3444 is a true Mutual Transconductance tube tester. Measures actual Mutual Transconductance. Unlike other testers that measure only proportional or% of transconductance. The overall physical condition is Very Good for its age. Some fabric separation on the bottom, re-glued. All other fabric in very good shape. All latches, handle and hinges work and are original. Military Hickok Design I-177B tube tester, calibrated, works excellent.
Here's an I-177B manufactured by Supreme that uses the classic Hickok transconductance measuring circuit. This unit works fine. It's been calibrated and it works fine. See the last 3 pictures for the cal data. The cosmetic condition is very good. These are really nice testers for checking vintage tubes. It checks 7 pin miniatures but not the 9 pins. You could make adapters for for testing these. Hickok Tube Tester Meter#2- Nice! Here's a second Hickok tube tester meter from my collection. The meter face is absolutely pristine. But there is no nomenclature on the face or rear of the meter to indicate its intended use. However, I have photos of an identical appearing meter on the Hickok models 530, 530B, 540, 547, 560 and 560SPL tube testers. Full scale sensitivity of this meter is 1.42 mA as measured on my Fluke digital meter. Hickok used odd FS values for their tube tester meters. Needle movement is not as smooth as on the other meter I have listed, but it gets there with repeatable accuracy- occasionally with a light tap on the face.
