It is sold as is with no returns. It is used and does show some signs of use. Its calibration status is unknown. It is always recommended that a tester be calibrated before being used. HICKOK 539C TUBE TESTER WORKS WELL, CLEAN, TESTS HAM RADIO AMP MUSIC
This offering is for a nice HICKOK 539C TUBE TESTER. The case is solid and presentable. But it does show signs of use. But it has done, and continues to do- it's assigned job of providing protection to the tester. The tester itself is very clean, and seems to work well. This is a fairly complicated tester, I ordered a high-quality, color operator's manual so I could test the unit, this manual will be included with the tester when shipped. The roll chart is dated SPRING 1969, and rolls smoothly. All the meters work smoothly and properly, push buttons work properly, I do not find any problems with this tester. Hiowever, I am not familiar with a tester of this complexity, so I cannot atttest to proper functioning of all the various moptions and tests possible with htis Hickok. So O am selling it as-is, but I do believe it does basic ... morefunctions properly, and likely all functions etc. The 539C seems to work well, I have attempted to compare the test results to the results on my recently calibrated( by Dan Nelson in AZ) TV7-D, but that is not so easy to do since they have different scales.but a tube that tested borderline bad on my TV7-D also tested to be right between acceptable and bad. So I believe the tester to be working well, but I have always believed a tester of unknown calibration date should be re-calibrated to be really accurate on all tube types. All testers should be calibrated every decade or so, if the user wants extreme accuracy. They test a wide range of tubes, with a total of 14 sockets for different types of tubes. All the hardware woeks great, the latches, hinges, and the heavy duty handle all function properly. somewhat corroded. but all work fine. This item is a Superior Electric Model 600 Tube Tester. The auction includes instruction manual and tube charts. The instrument is in good condition. But its case has several cosmetic and mechanical issues. First, the battery compartment was somewhat damaged by corroding D-cells(see photos) though this damage appears to be mostly superficial. The instrument was stored in a damp environment, and there is a bit of mold on the top cover. More seriously, one of the lid hinges is seriously corroded and has pulled loose from the cabinet. Up for your consideration is a Vintage Circa 1950 Accurate Instruments Model 159 Tube Tester and Rejuvenator. The model 159 CRT Tube Tester is especially designed to test both B&W and Color magnetically deflected picture tubes. The model 159 will also indicate when the tube is failing and allows you to rejuvenate it also. The manual is in good condition and explains how to use this thing except I don't understand it. The case is wood and covered with a vinyl material that has started degrading about 20% I don't have any tubes to test nor would I have a clue as to going about that test however I did plug it in and turn it on and when I pressed the quality and leak button the light came on that is associated with that test. Hickok 800A Calibrated& Everything Within Specs Includes 9& 12 pin Compactron Hickok 800A Tube Tester 1971 More Pictures Below Description This later 800A model has a calibration adjustment pot. That can be seen in the pictures, that is not on the earlier 800A testers. The CA-4 adapter is not needed since this can test all tubes up to 9 pin mini, and the 9 and 12 pin compactron. There is an abundance of available information including tube data available at no charge at Bama: Went through all the calibration steps and checked all the voltage specifications and they were all virtually perfect. Plate voltage. Bias voltages at 100, 75, 50, and 22, signal voltage, screen and low screen voltage, filament voltages and checked with 6L6 loaded, shorts test, and calibration tubes. The picture with the DMM is showing the tester set at the line, ... moreand a 6L6 in the socket and the filament/heater voltage reads 6.29 volts with the tube loaded. The line voltage being correct is critical to obtain proper Gm test results and so is the heater voltage. This later versions of the 800A has a calibration adjustment for the AC line test. Adjustable resistor R24/ 100K is used and is the the POT with the blue knob pictured. Many Hickok testers can still be calibrated. But with a tube in the socket the filament voltage drops under 6 volts and you get low Gm test readings. Tested a 6L6 calibration tube that tests with almost exact Gm at 5500 and the tube calls for a Gm of 5475. Tested a 6AX7 calibration tube that tests at 1400 and 1450 Gm and the tube calls for 1400 and 1440 Gm and are pictured. The 6ax7 is not on the roll chart and located in the obsolete tube data. It is all original including the two tubes. The 83 and 5y3gt that were tested on a Hickok 752. The 83 tests at 1050 in both sections and 600 is the min. The 5y3gt tests at 625 on both sections and 400 is the min. This tester has the original grounded plug original to the tester and the roll chart is dated 1971 and turns smoothly. DETAILED DESCRIPTION: For sale is this vintage Triplett 2413 tube tester. Tester is in good mechanical condition(no dents. No missing knobs, nothing broken) but is missing lid. The lid is where the test data settings booklet is stored, and that is also missing. So I have no manual or settings data for this. I searched online and there are plenty of people selling copies of the data booklet for around $10, so it is available. I did find an article online from the October. 1947 Radio News magazine which reviewed the tester and had a very limited list of tube settings. Using this list, my good calibrated Hickok 600A, and a box of tubes I had laying around; I was able to verify the tester works properly. I didn't check every single setting but I did test some 6L6's, an 80 rectifier, and one or two other tubes. Other than the missing lid(and ... moredata. And manual) the only issue I saw was the wire for the grid cap is frayed at the hole where it goes inside the tester and should be replaced before it shorts out. The tester has been modified to test Plate Current using the diode test points just under the meter. Instructions on how this works included. It is important to test idle current when matching power tubes. This tester is the newer vintage of the 800A with the voltage set pot(see blue dial in interior pictures) This tester has been refurbished so that the clunky adjustment rig R15 for bias and reduced screen voltage can be quickly and easily set. Here is a very old antique Clough Brengle model 105 Oscillograph oscilloscope from 1935. In what I would call excellent physical condition(is certainly VG+) and in working(sort of) condition. 1" screen, I get various traces but I am sure that some of the resistors and capacitors are out of spec from being 80 years old! As you can see in photos this piece of test gear is in great shape with very little wear, the front panel is in excellent shape, all controls move/turn smoothly and evenly, leather handle excellent, please note that the 4 screws that hold front panel to metal cabinet are missing. Would be a great addition to any antique radio test bench. Relisting due to some bidding errors now cleared up, and offered with no reserve and low opening bid.

HEATHKIT TT-1A Mutual Conductance Tube Tester, Exc. WORKING Cond.
I am privileged to offer you one of the cleanest Heathkit TT-1A Tube Testers I have seen in a while. The front panel and the inside chassis and components. Are in really great condition. I have done for you what I would like any seller to do for me if I were buying this tester. Refurbishing the switch contacts MUST be done and I have done this time consuming job. I used an Heathkit IT-2232 component scope in circuit tracer to test the existing capacitors, ALL of them passed tests. However, two critical resistors did not, so I replaced them of course. I Tested the two internal tubes, they were good. As you can see from my pictures, I used my"in-house" Calibration Mil. 6L6Y tube to verify large tube performance, results were right on spec. I also tested a Mil. 12AU7 tube as per"Special" testing formula and the results were ... moreexactly as predicted Gm=900. This unit looks to be Factory wired. Still has original power cord. Tube chart turns perfectly. One knob on the lid mounted socket adapter is not original, I will include the cracked original. Up for auction we have this vintage SECO Model GCT- 5 Tube tester. VT GRID CIRCUIT TESTER. This model did come with the magic eye tube. We are not 100% sure on how to completely test this item. We did get the tubes to be tested to glow and a glow from the magic eye but not sure how to read nor set the dial for each type of tube. Shows minor wear from age to the metal housing. no dents. leather strap in good condition. Cord still in good condition slight wear near the plug end but did not stop us from plugin it in.
