Made by Georg Jensen and disigned by Johan Rohde in 1916 to comemorate the 50th anniversary of the Danish Shipping Company as can been seen on a plaque on the inside of the lid. As the story goes Jensen made 1051 of these boxes. One for the King. Fifty for the higher staff and one thousend for the workers. The one for the king was naturally made out of gold, the higher staff were given a silver one and the workers could enjoy a copper/bronze one. Because of the history behind the item it is rare that family would let go of such an inheritance but this one is now here and you could be the next owner to keep his/her pecious cigars in this magnificant box.
