Charlton Comic Book Volume 4 Number 64 Copyright August 1961. The stories in the comic book include the following-Lash Larue in NotchesAnnie Oakley in Outlaw's Boy. Wild Bill Hickok in The Silenced Gun, a two page story titled Kit Carson Recollects, The Prisoner and Wyatt Earp in The Best Man. I did not see any writing on the pages in the comic book. The pages have some wearing and dinging on the corners and edges. The comic book has some tears along the spine. The comic book lays flat with no spine rolling. The spine, corners and edges on the cover have wearing from reading and handling. The top third of the front cover is missing as you can see in the photo. HICKOK CARDMATIC 1230 TUBE TESTER - VERY CLEAN - NEEDS REPAIRS - 123 / 123A
Nice Hickok 1230 tube tester in very clean condition. Too bad it needs repair work. As seen in the third picture testing a known good 12AX7 the meter does not read into the green zone as it should on line 2 and as seen in the fourth picture the needle does not fully return to zero, if left to sit off for a period of time the needle will return closer to zero but it never quite gets there. Several other known good tubes have been tested and only one read into the green zone and I believe that one was a rectifier tube. The meter is labeled 123A, this may or may not be the correct meter for this- I'm sure the Hickok aficionados will know and maybe share a bit of knowledge as WEB searches have revealed little info on this tester, any shared info will be posted in the Q&A section at the bottom of the page. Thumbing through the test cards ... morethey appear to all be in excellent condition, there are an estimated 500+ cards included inside the case, the cards are marked"123" I assume the 123/A tester is very similar to this tester, see my other listing for a HUGE set of 123/A cards that will work in this tester. The tester accepts and releases the test cards with no issues, the power stays on and the off switch works well. The power cord is dry rotted and will need replaced, the case is nice showing only a couple of minor blemishes in the tolex, the metal hardware outside the case is mostly clean with some minor flash rust, the leather handle shows some minor cracking and is still very solid, the inside panel is very nice and clean- I can't imagine this will need a lot to get it going again- possibly just needing re-caped and the tubes replaced, that seems to do the trick on most of these old testers from my experience. The tester is large and heavy weighing in at almost 42 pounds and measuring approximately 20.5" by 17" by 9.5" no manuals or other literature is included. During World War II the"V FOR VICTORY" phase was used by just about every Amercian. We are offering on auction an authentic. Almost like new, V FOR VICTORY" Tie Bar made by Hickok, the well known jewelry manufacturer. In Morse Code the letter"V" is Dot-Dot-Dot-Dash; hence the Blue colored three dots and one dash above the Blue letter"V" on the gold colored metal disc which is the center piece of the Tie Bar. The disc is about is about 3/4" in diameter; the tie bar is 2 1/2 inches long. The back of the Tie Bar has a strong spring loaded clip that will hold just about any tie in place. 1930 HICKOK AC47 RADIO TUBE TESTER Antique MUTUAL CONDUCTANCE Vtg VERY EARLY Ham
Up for sale is a very early Hickok model AC 47 mutual conductance tube tester with Hickok Multiplex socket adapter. In green velvet padded carrying case with leather handle. This was Hickok's 5th model of tube tester introduced in 1930, and is in real nice cosmetic condition, though please note that due to the age of this Hickok tester I have not plugged it in, so working condition is unknown and am selling as-is and as-found, due to being 80+ years old I'm sure some component testing should be done before powering up. Please refer to photos, this AC 47 is in great shape with only very light wear, the Hickok name plate looks great, meter windows excellent, no cracks or chips to top panel or bakelite chassis enclosure(note that top panel is ingraved with'MSOE' the original cloth covered twisted-pair AC power cord is not frayed ... moreor broken, Insides are also very nice, no obviously burned or broken components, no loose wires or any other damage, the Multiplex socket adapter also very nice. Carrying case lining VG+, the outside of case has some wear to tolex but no major damage, and all hardware present and working fine. If you collect early tube testers, here is a great example of an early Hickok mutual conductance tester.

I don't know much about this. I can't find another exact model online. It says Model LAK and because it was for the Navy, has a different tag than other Hickok models. I am selling this as untested. Vintage Hickok Model 600A Tube Tester w Instructions Manual w Roll Chart
This is a great estate find from upstate NY. It is a Hickok model 600A tube tester. It has the instruction manual and a roll chart. I don't have any tubes to test nor do I know anything about tube testers. I cannot verify the working condition of this tester because of my lack of knowledge. I do know that the light(as seen in the photo) does turn on although it does flicker very faintly. The chord is a little stiff and there are a couple rips in the rubber towards the plug. It measures 17" wide. 11" deep and 8" tall and is in a hard case that snaps closed. There is some wear to the red case, such as spots where the bare wood is showing through and one of the metal feet has pushed through the wood case. Up for sale here is this vintage Hickok 600A tube tester. I picked up this tester from an estate many years ago. And it has been sitting on a box in my basement since then. I plugged it in and two light bulbs on the front lit up very faintly, but I tried to test a tube and got nothing. The bulbs stopped lighting up after that. I would assume that this needs recalibration at minimum, and possibly more than that. The big sprague grey thing on the back(resistor? appears to be cracked. The paper roll scrolls smoothly and reads great. Cord is fine. I have not cleaned, repaired, tested, or worked on this in any way. This tester has no case unfortunately. Hickok 533A Tube Tester. This is an exceptionally clean tester that shows only minimal signs of use. There are a few scuffs on the case. But it otherwise looks and functions fine. The face is nice and bright and also looks very good. I see a few splotches of discoloration but nothing that stands out. The tester works great. As you can see from the images it calibrates to line voltage. It addition, I am showing it testing a 12AX7. the test results are commensurate with my calibrated Hickok 539C tester. There are an estimated 1400+ cards in this set, an estimated 400 of these are of the 2, 3& 4 digit type like 80, 801 and 6025- most all of these 400 are of the 4 digit type, there are an estimated 600+ cards from 0A3 through the 6 volt tube types, the set appears to be light on 12 volt type cards but I did notice cards for popular tubes like 12AU7& 12AX7. I did not notice many doubles thumbing through the set and for the most part the cards are in order, if there are any doubles they would be of the 4 digit type, there is a stack of these(75-100 or so) out of order that makes it difficult to say one way or the other if there are many doubles of these. The down side to this set is that many cards are warped but many more than that are good or ... morejust slightly warped. Some of the warped cards may be unusable but I think most will be usable, the upside is that you will have the pattern for the tube type to punch your own cards if one of the warped cards is what you need, see sample pictures above. The cards were not properly stored and they are on the dusty/dirty side and will need cleaned before use. The pictured storage box is NOT included in this sale, the cards have been packaged for shipment so I will not be able to answer specific questions about any one card in the set, this was done to get an accurate weight for shipment, shipping weight on this set is 21 pounds for double boxed shipping. This set will require a considerable effort to clean up, sort through and possibly attempt to flatten out the cards, if this will be an issue for you please pass on this listing. This tester came out of a large private collection auctioned off at an estate sale. This Tube Tester is very good looking with only minor wear. This was made in the 1945-46 era. The design was made by Hickock, it was licensed and assembled by Supreme Corporation in Greenwood Miss. The manual appears completed without any significant torn or worn pages. Since in it partially working it might be any easy fix. I just don't have time. My loss is your gain. Hickok 600 Transconductance Tube Tester. Low Hours Tester was used on the bench of a gent that was not an engineer but in management. Owner had limited time and tester accumulated low hours. Tester was always in shop with the same atmosphere as the living quarters of a home. Switches have that low hours feel. Meter is working fine. Tube measurement results correlate closely with a known accurate TV-7. Faceplate has no wear at the usual spots. Chart is working with correct tension. Faceplate screws are all original. Cabinet shows some wear and what appears to be paint spots. Cabinet has no serious stains. Inside of tester has that sweet smell and not the damp musty smell of a tester stored in damp atmosphere. You are bidding on an unmolested working Hickok model 680 crystal-controlled RF Marker Calibrator with manual. Hickok is a big name in radio/TV/electronics test equipment. The company has existed for over 100 years. During the heyday of tube electronics Hickok built some of the very best tools for radio and TV servicemen. Today the company is still in business. But manufactures only automotive test equipment. This auction is for a Hickok model 680 crystal controlled RF marker calibrator with magic eye. Serial number 73-10661. This instrument is usually used to provide highly accurate"markers" and calibration when aligning analog television sets and high frequency radios. But it can also be used to calibrate any signal generator with an RF output from 500 kHz to over 850MHz. If you're looking at this listing you probably already ... moreknow all this. Detailed specifications are shown in the right hand page of the manual in the last photo. This instrument was last used by me two years ago. It was in working condition at that time and should still be. If you plan to use it regularly you may want to replace the power supply filter capacitors since they are over fifty years old. The cord also shows some cracking. But is still useable. This 680 comes with an Hickok original manual in fair condition. The manual includes full instructions for using the 680, a schematic diagram, and a parts list. The 680 has sockets for up to 3 switch-selectable crystals(see 3rd photo) This listing includes the standard 2.5MHz crystal. Installing other crystals in the empty sockets would allow you to use the calibrator at any desired crystal controlled frequency. This instrument is entirely unmolested and original. There is a hammer and a muddler and an olive/cherry fork with a spring on the handle, and the bottle opener unscrews to expose another muddler. Measures about 7&5/8" long. Leather case is marked"Hickok" on one side, indicating it was made by the Hickok Belt Company out of Rochester, NY and the other side is marked"made in Germany U.S. Zone. 4 HAMMOND BLACKBURN MULLARD 12AX7 ECC83 TUBES HICKOK TESTED 1 DAY AUCTION
Hi and thanks for looking. This is a seller ships world wide auction and all are welcome to bid. For auction is a set of 4 Mullard 12AX7 tubes with Blackburn codes. These are typical tubes with Hammond label's. These have seamed tops. 15mm plates with a halo getter. I have test results from my Hickok 600A with shipping info at the bottom. Tester is given time to fully warm up before starting. With tube in socket. Meter is adjusted to the line test mark when needed. Each tube is then checked for shorts and gas. Any tubes showing shorts or gas are rejected. All like sections are tested in batch before testing next section. Tubes are tested using the micromhos scale and settings for this scale and readings are given in this scale. Tubes are tested with the dial set at the 3000 micromhos dot and used with the scale from zero to 3000 for micromhos ... morereadings. New tube average for a 12AX7 is 1250/1250 micromhos. Here is how they did; tube 1 1250/1250( I63 B8K4) Tube 2 1200/1200( I63 B5D2) tube 3 1200/1350( I63 B5C4) tube 4 1200/1250( I63 B5D2) Tubes also read. When using just the good/ bad scale, and settings for this scale, tubes read near 1/3 way into the good@ 1250 and 1/8@ 1100. These have all been cleaned( not the pins though) These are being sold as stated and are clean and readings were taken from my Hickok 600A.
