Up for auction. The Hickok Cardmatic Model 123 Tube Tester. This 123 comes with cards for all the popular tubes, a technical manual, the owner’s manual and a set of schematics. This Model 123 was just serviced for this auction. I took the 123 to my local repair shop and the following work was done. The main filter was replaced, the sockets were replaced, all controls and connectors cleaned and the 123 was calibrated. The 123 is in good cosmetic condition with the normal signs of age. The repair shop tested the 123 after all repairs were complete and the 123 and all of its functions were working as they should. Due to the age of the tester, this unit is being sold AS IS.

However I will state. this is a 50 year old tester and I did not test every function. sold as-is. Has a N.I.S.T. Calibration sticker from Tucker Electronics a well respected Calibration house dated 1993! you don't see that on these too often! The meter has not been fully tested but was given a detailed inspection. The glass lens on the meter is in tact with no major scratches or cracks. The“zero adjust” knob is missing but the remaining knobs on front are present and turns smoothly. The needle on the scale bounces and moves smoothly. The end of the power cord has been cut off. Two test leads are present. This unit contains five tubes. All five tubes were removed. Tested and reinstalled( 1ea OD3-strong, 1ea 6X5-strong, 1ea GX5GT-strong, 1ea 6SN7GTB-strong and 1ea 6SJ7GT-strong) Some surface rust and chipping paint present but nothing major. The case is in rough condition and needs to be stripped of its covering and refurbished.The face plate on the tester is in good condition.A little cleaning will make it very presentable. The plug has been cut off of the cord and one of the knobs and three resistors were found under the electronics in the case. I know from experience that technicians often cut the plug and removed knobs to prevent anyone from trying to operate a piece of equipment they deemed to be non-functional. I believe that to be the case with this tester. I bought this to remove the English control for another unit but it turns out the shaft on this model is slightly shorter and it wouldn't hold the English dial that has the curved sides. Unit powers up. And you can set line. I remember testing a 6L6 with it when I got it and it read low. Didn't register anything today, so listing as Parts Only As Is. No returns. It has one of my SS 83 regulated rectifiers in it so that should help cover the shipping. and the English control does work, so there are some good parts in here or possibly could be restored, but I don't personally work on units this old. 99 cent starting bid and no reserve. This auction is for a Vintage Hickok Tube Tester T-53. With no reserve. The tester shows some wear and can be seen in the twelve(12) pictures below. The tester is sold as is and I do not know if it works properly or not. When it is plugged in and it is turned on, the light of the meter goes on. When the Line Adjustment knob is moved the light for the meter goes dimmer and brighter. When the line test button is pushed, the meter goes to a little over 1500. When the roller is turned the chart moves from Stop to Stop. I see no light for the chart. The coating for the red wire has some breaks in the coating. They are used. Start at 0A2 and go to 117Z6. This is almost a complete set. I would have no idea what is missing, but the four digit tubes are not represented. Ones like the 6146 etc. The case does have the handle, but as you can see from the picture, it is in poor condition. You are bidding on the metal box and all the cards. Hickok 539-A Tube Tester calibrated This Tube tester was serviced with new resistors. Caps and complete adjustments for correct signal levels and meter bridge setting etc. I also replaced the 83 Rectifier Tube with Solid state replacement to reduce the load on the transformer. 539 A is the earlier version of 539B/C and has almost the same features like Self bias terminals and Plate Current Measuring terminals etc. Also signal level can be switched unlike entry level 600 A or 800A versions. This model can be a versatile Hickok like 539B or C without fancy price. Plate Voltage. Screen, Grid Bias and Grid Signal levels were checked after adjustments. also the Meter bridge was adjusted for correct meter reading for Micromho based on Daniel Schoo 539 C calibration method on all ranges. I also checked a known calibration sample 6L6 for correct ... morereading along with few 12AX7 tubes. All are showing correct reading. I also use Brent Jesse Recording Sample calibration 6L6 tube for checking this tester. Few points to note. This tester will not be shipped overseas due to fragile as well as size of the tester. The wood was the original 539 A box but the covering was really not worthy of this tester when I got it. So I removed the decayed covering. The wood box is not of great quality( as Hickok boxes were meant to have the covering to make it look better than bare wooden box. The buyer can get it covered using Tolex or suitable material. I had done such a work on 800 A model and can guide the buyer if he wishes to do on his own. This tester is over 50 year old and hence the top looks its age. However I had replaced the power cable with 3 pronged safety 3 wire power cabling. The earth is connected to the top Metal plate to avoid issues with power input. Up for auction is a vintage 1950s era Tru Vue Bakelite 3 Dimension Film Card Viewer with three American West or Western-themed film cards. Two film cards are 1950s TV Cowboy Shows and the third film card is scenic. The Tru-Vue viewer is in excellent used condition. Produced in black and measures approximately 5" wide. 3" deep and 2 1/2" tall. No cracks, scratches or chips. Lever advances perfectly. View film cards by looking at a light source(daylight, lamp) with the film card in the viewer. old technology, no batteries needed. The film cards slide through the viewer top to bottom using the lever. This mechanism was similar but not identical to the View-Master technology that used circular reels. MAIN METER HICKOK 539B or 539C – Tested for Accuracy – Nice!
This meter was removed from a clean operating 539B that I converted to all digital meters. If you have a 539C with the smaller plastic face meter. Then the testers metal face plate will have to be altered to make this fit. I can furnish a paper template if you want to do a conversion. It will be shipped with a shorting wire across the terminals to protect the movement from vibration. The meter is rated at 115 Microampst 172.5 Millivolts and 1500 ohms for full scale deflection. As shown in the pictures I checked it at several points on the meter scale. The voltage across the meter can be checked at the same time. But I have found it’s really not necessary unless the meter has been tampered with. Picture Microamps Meter scale 1 0 0 2 38.3 1/4 of full scale 3 57.5 1/2 of full scale 4 76.7 3/4 of full scale The pic shows 76.6 when taken. 5 115.0 ... moreFull scale The last picture number 8 shows a safe circuit to test your meter to see if you really need a replacement. It limits the maximum current to about 125 uA. Which is safe for these meters. If your old meter is not indicating at all check it with the circuit in the picture. If it’s open. Then replace the meter with a 1500 ohm resistor and measure the voltage across the resistor with a digital multimeter. A reading of less than172.5 mV reading while testing a tube would indicate the tester is operating in the normal meter range and anything greater than that would indicate troubles in the tester circuit. NEVER check these meters with an ohmmeter as it can damage the meter movement. This meter is sealed with markings to keep everything honest. This tester is in very good cosmetic condition with only minor scuffs and dings on the case. No cracks. The tester powers up and the internal tubes warm up. The power cord looks good and the jumper cord is present. The built in tube chart roller operates very smoothly. I could not find the manual. But I see they can easily be gotten right here on ebay. This tester belonged to my father K2UBU. He was a Ham radio operator from 1956 on and took very good care of his equipment. Vintage 1920’s 1930’s GREEN Deco Suspenders Braces by HICKOK!
Up for auction is a VERY rare pair of late 1920’s to early 1930’s suspenders by HICKOK! I’ll let the photos speak for the details! There is one blue spot on the front left strap. It lands approximately 11 inches up from the buttonholes. Other than that. The straps are clean and strong! The pebble grain leather is showing some wear and it appears as though the back strap was taken off and reattached at some point. The braided ends are in perfect condition! They measure approximately 36 inches long as shown. But can be expanded up to 39 inches. READ BEFORE BIDDING Payment is expected within 5 days!
