Hickok TV-7D/U Tube tester, Extremely nice condition, Depot overhauled / Cal'd
Here's a really nice TV-7D tube tester in excellent operating condition and cosmetic condition. It appears to me that it was never used in the field. There's no obvious wear either on the inside or outside of the case. This comes with the US Army Depot box when it was calibrated or overhauled in 1978. I just checked the calibration(to Mil TM-11-6625-274-35) and it needed just one minor adjustment since the overhaul. See my calibration test sheets in the last two pictures. This has the standard accessories. And an unused tube chart. All of this looks unused. As you can see from the pictures the front panel. And the chassis are also like new. The tube sockets are likewise look unused. Some info. The TV-7D has several improvements over earlier units e.g. it has parasitic oscillation damping(ferrite beads) and it has a higher GM range(position ... moreF) for testing the later(high Gm) tubes. This of course will test all early tubes including Western Electrics. There are sockets for 4.5,6,7,8 octal. 8 loctal, 7/ 9 pin minatures and acorns. It is possible to make adapters for the later 9/ 12 pin sweep tubes. This has been completely calibrated to the Army Tech manual(TM 11-6625-274-35) specs. The two factors that have the most influence on unit to unit repeatability are the signal voltage levels(step 4) and the transconductane(plate AC current) These are right on their center values(see test calibration data) The TV-7's are considered to be standard by many people. They're obviously built to the highest standard and they don't have the"English" pot that many Hickok's used to change the transconductance range. TV-7's that are calibrated properly don't depend on using a"standard" 6L6) tube for adjusting the(transconductance) scales. Instead this calibration is done by using by using a known AC plate current(from an isolated transformer) and knowing the AC grid test signal. This was one of the last Tube Testers Hickok sold, and unofficially it was sold into the 1970s. This one is in nice used condition with a few scrapes and nicks on the outside of the cabinet. ... moreYou can make it look new if you want to buff it up with black shoe polish, but I’ll leave that up to you. The interior panel is excellent, showing very little sign of use. This large 19” x 17” x 8” tester has 14 sockets and covers 4 pin, 5 pin, 6 pin, 7 pin, octal, loctal, 7 pin miniature, 9 pin miniature, 10 pin, 12 pin, and 4 smaller sockets for nuvistors and subminiature tubes. Hickok model 546 tube tester checker
Very nice Hickok 546 tube tester. This has been gone through recently and works very well. The metal case could use some cleaning or re-painting but is also in nice condition with no rust. The handle is good and sturdy. I have tested several tubes(an 80. 2A3, and a 6SF7) against my 800 and they test almost identical. The roll chart is in very good condition. I will try to get the postage down a bit by cutting down the box a bit. I don't charge for packaging.

Bought two vintage tube testers from the son of the original owner. Said he kept these around enough years. Selling these and a couple vintage floor radios that has been in his family since he was small. This is a Hickok Model 6000 per the label. It says Micromho. Dynamic Mutual Conductance TUBE TESTER. Serial# on front of the case is 23414504. I see other auctions for a model 6000A but this is definitely a Model 6000 which was I believe an earlier model. Copied some info about the difference. Models 6000 and 6000A. These were the successors to the 600 series. The 6000 has sockets up to 9-pin mini. The 6000A does not have 4.5,7 pin older sockets, but it does have the 9 and 12 pin compactrons. These are nice compact testers and data is widely available. The fellow I bought it from said he is sure it works and that his father ran a radio repair ... moreshop someplace. I do not know how to test this. I plugged it in. When I turn the power knob from off to 125( which I assume is line voltage adjustment) the needle moves smoothly to the center area on the needle gauge and continues higher if I turn the knob a bit higher. There was an old small GM Delco Electron tube in the box( will be included) and when I installed it and pushed the test button the needle swung towards"bad" for what that is worth. I would not conclude much from this since I am sure the other 12 knobs and dials would have some impact on a tube test? I guess you get the idea that I know really nothing more about this tester beyond what I stated. The case is worn and tattered as the pictures show although the hinges, snaps, handle and S/N tag are intact. One could either re-cloth it or build a nice oak case I guess using this original hardware if so inclined. The cord has been folded inside the case for many years and is quite brittle. As soon as it is straightened I would guess it might fall to pieces and should be replaced. Beautiful Hickok 6000 Mutual Conductance Tube Tester Lightly Used AUCTION
This is a beautiful working example of one of the finest tube-testers ever built. It is one of the last of the great Hickoks and has been very lightly used. The roller tube-chart functions properly and has the test-data for many modern tubes not seen on other testers. Such as 5687, 5755, 5670. Of course the test data for the old stand-bys such as 12AX7, 6V6, 6SN7 are included, too. It tests solid-state devices such as transistors and diodes but I have never performed these tests. I have tested many tubes with this unit. It is working properly. It has not. However, been professionally calibrated. It is a true analog device and tiny changes in either the bias or shunt controls have a dramatic effect on the test reading. This is a unit you can live with for the rest of your life. If you have never used one, it takes a little time and practice ... moreto perform a test correctly. For example, there are two ways to read the output: GOOD vs. REPLACE, or in MICROMHOS(transconductance) To do the good-replace test, you use the settings on the tube chart. To test for approximate transconductance, you use one of the three red dots on the shunt knob to set the scale on the meter. You can then compare the reading on the meter to the nominal standard reading shown on the chart. Sound complicated? It isn't. It just takes a little practice and patience to become an expert. If you want to use this as a commercial tube-seller. I suggest you have it professionally calibrated. Look on ebay for folks who perform that sevice. I have read their ads and they sound like they know their stuff. In the photos you can see me testing a Russian EL34 and a Chinese 6L6GC. Both lightly used. The EL34 tests a little low. The 6L6 is right on the money. You can test your own tubes to draw your own conclusions about the calibration. Remember, even GOOD tubes test differently. VINTAGE HICKOK SET 18" POCKET WATCH CHAIN WITH 2 TIE CLASPS Offered is a beautiful. Masculine, men's vintage pocket watch chain with two matching tie clasps. This set comes in its original blue box. I am dating the piece circa 1960s/early 1970s based on the fact that original owner passed away in 1974. Due to the fact that the original metal clips were still firmly attached to each piece in the box(except for me taking photos and measurements of the chain) I do not believe that the original owner ever had a chance to use these. For the past 40 years, this set has been cased in its original box and has never been exposed to the elements. The photographs taken herein are in consecutive order of each respective piece. The pocket watch chain measures 18" long from end to end. As pictured. A black accent piece is attached to the ... morechain on each end before its respective'ring' closure. The center of each closure has a flat gold finish with an in laid gold beaded accent. I am not an expert, but the material of the black accent pieces look like they are either a durable plastic or perhaps some other material used during that era. Again, no expert here. Each link of the pocket watch chain has tiny decorative circles on the flat side as can be seen from the close-up pictures. The sides of the links are also photographed. I am not a metal expert and do not know what type of metal was used in the construction of this chain. Or its accompanying tie clasps. With that said, the goldish/bronze color on each piece does not appear to show any sort of color loss or change. The patina is in remarkable condition. The ONLY exception to this statement is the metal that was used for the monogrammed letters on the tie clasp, as described below. I believe the two accompanying matching pieces are tie clasps. Although the back of the tie clasps are very different. The tie clasp on top(with the hanging chain) has a diagonal brush design. This tie clasp measures 2" across. Correctly set line voltage, adjust all the knobs, set bias, checked for shorts, everything seemed to work ok, but when I pressed P4 to test the tube, the Bias jumped from 3 to 6 and the main meter did not move. I was able to see that the main meter works by checking for gas etc. the scroll chart rolls nice and smooth and the chart appears in great shape. over all the insides look good. has n Original Hickok#83 tube in it. Here for sale is a used Hickok 209A. The leads are missing. And there are signs of wear on the chassis including some scratching and bumping. The large meter looks in very good condition and the needle moves when the machine is moved. The dials all turn, but the power button appears to have broken off. I plugged the meter into an outlet, and the Pilot Light did light up. I cannot say the tester is working condition as I do not have the leads. But will give a full refund if buyer is not satisfied.

And all original. According to the original owner, this Hickok 6000B was never used. Everything is all original and everything works. Checked the calibration with a 6L6 calibration tube and it was perfect. This unit is solid state and does not require any tubes. The bias is set with the meter rather than a bias pot for higher precision. There is also a calibration pot on the shunt for adjustment instead of having to remark the dial. The case is a little dirty and has some light paint over-spray. This unit has an original three-prong grounded plug and a resting post for the cap wire. Offered is a HICKOK model 600A vacuum tube tester. This is one of the older maroon suit case models offered here in average cosmetic condition. The case shows fading to the cloth. But has no major rips or tears. The tester face is clean showing average but not heavy usage. It has 4,5,6 and 7 big-pin sockets along with OCTAL, 7& 9 pin-mini and a Locktal socket. This set is in good operating condition from what I can tell. I tested a tube in each sockets and the readings appear to be right in line with where they should be. Plate and grid cap outlets function. The meter is in good shape swinging freely without any hangs or drags. The roll chart is functioning but gets stiff at the front and back ends of the chart. The only thing is needs is a shorts lamp as it is missing. There is no original owners manual or additional chart info, but ... morethese are available on Ebay from multiple sources. This set is a good unit for testing radio tubes. In addition it will test four pin tubes like 2A3, 45, and 80. Octal power tubes such as 6L6, 6CA7, EL-84, and 6V6.
