1967 US Forestry Service Planimetric Series Map of Hayden Peak. Utah(A35) A planimetric map is just a technical name for a line map which is your basic road map. This map includes roads and natural features of the Hayden Park region as they were 47 years ago. Please be aware that these Road Maps and Brochures are anywhere from 10 to 90 years old. They are printed on paper that is not acid free and in most cases have not been stored in the best way. So some of the maps you are buying will be in a condition that reflects both of these facts. The map you get may be worn or lightly torn along the fold lines due to the acidity of the paper and being folded for years. They may also be discolored or mottling spots again due to the acidity of the paper. The borders and foldlines of the maps may also have tears. On occasion maps may smell musty from ... morethe way they have been stored in the past. When the map is kept in an open area the musty smell will fade away in time. You are bidding on a Scarce United States Indian Service Forestry Branch Canvas Saddle Bag or Pack. It measures about 13" high and 13" across. I've had this for a while now and have never been able to find out what is exactly was or what it was used for. I believe it dates to the 1920s or earlier. It has two brass loops on the back for attaching to a saddle strap or belt. If you open the two straps on the front flap it reveals two smaller storage pouches and one large storage area. German Eickhorn Senior Officers Forestry cutlass
A Genuine German Senior Officers Forestry cutlass by Eickhorn. The cutlass is in fair condition and is in need of restoration. Or TLC. One of the brass grip acorns is missing from the obverse side of the grip. There is some surface staining to the brass grips crossguard and lower parts of the hand guard, and some scuffs to the edges of the clambshell guard. The Eickhorn stamped blade has dark surface rust staining overall hiding some of the etchings on both sides of the blade and spine. It hasn't been sharpened, just looks untouched and uncleaned. The scabbard is in fair condition, the black leather has various surface scuffs and rubs. The upper and lower gilt brass fittings are in good condition with some minor wear, they are held on by the correct staples on the reverse side with matching numbers stamped underneath. There are some minor folds on the maps which appear to be original(corner folds) very slight wear on edges and the paper has some age yellowing. The owner wrote his name on the front but no other pen/ pencil marks. Considering the age of this collectible book. It is in really good shape and totally readable and usable as is.
