WWII German Forestry Sword- Dagger- Original- Senior Deluxe Eichorn NICE! This is the WWII type Senior Foresters Deluxe Cutlass; It has uncracked natural material grips and deluxe acorns. This is the design that has the Eichorn Squirrel on the Ferrule below the obverse grip plate. The separate clam shell has the stag scratching his antlers against a tree. The hilt appears to be made of gilded aluminum. The overall length of the dagger is 18 5/16 inches in the scabbard. The 12 7/8 inch blade is stamped with the WWII period Eichorn Trademark(see photo) It is etched on both sides with a darker frosting in the recesses. The point is double-edged. However the blade does not appear to have been sharpened. The spine is also etched with oak leafs. The felt blade washer is present. The scabbard is leather with brass fittings. The staples are present ... moreon both fittings. There is a spring steel keeper inside the scabbard preventing the dagger from falling out when held upside down. There are slight nicks to the leather and minute dings to the fittings. This is a very nice dagger. There are no banned symbols on this item. This is a uniform patch for the Tennessee Division of Forestry when it was under the Department of Conservation. It is currently under the Department of Agriculture. This is the wildlands fire. Landowner assistance, and state forest management agency. I'm calling it used, but the patch is in like-new condition, apparently removed from a uniform. Contains a highly detailed narrative of the non-divisional unit's experiences during the war accompanied by numerous photographs. Illustrations and maps, casualty lists, etc. With 18,000 men, this forestry regiment was the largest in the A.E.F. with almost 100 companies, formed in the Pacific Northwest. Condition VG with general moderate soiling and wear to red cloth cover. Inside with light age toning and some occasional light foxing, penned notation inside back cover, ... morebinding tight and holding well. World War Two German Miniature Forestry dagger orginal and excellent. This is a great and nicely detailed miniature dagger no markings. It has a highly detailed handel and cross guard made of brass(has the hoofs at the ends of the crossguards and acron on pummel with clam shell) The stage part was painted at one time most wore of except in the groves(please see pictures) the scabard is highly detailed brass, the leather part was painted and only retains about 30% orginal paint, has a nicly detailed acron for the frog stud. The blade is very high quality with blood grove and retains 95% +++ orginal finish(could be cleaned but I have never touched it) The dagger is 7-7/16"s long. This is a great and highly detailed miniature dagger all orginal. I received this when i was 12 from a man who owned a auto salvage, I worked their in the summer, ... moreat this time most people did not have new cars but kept the old vehicles running, so saturdays were a day to repair and fix your car, So he would always take trades for items, he accuried this and several other items from a vet and at the end of the day he gave them to me.
