Travel back in time with this sweet vintage Teisco Spectrum IV. Built in Japan in the late 1960s. During the heyday of funky original Japanese guitars. Four pickups, each marked SPECTRUM, as well as BASS and TREBLE. As the joke goes, why four pickups? Cause they couldn't fit five pickups! Silver plastic slider switches for the pickups. Two silver plastic control knobs(volume and tone) Built-in palm mute! Just slip it into position and all the strings have the staccato muting! Tremelo bar. The body is blue with cool modified"German carve" cutout around the edges. I just put on new D'Addario extra light strings. Just cleaned all the switches and knobs with DeoxIt so they sound smooth and crunchless. All the pickups, switches and knobs work. The bridge height is adjustable. And the neck is surprisingly straight. I got it from ... morethe estate of an old Ohio farm family, the last owner was a grandson who put some rock and roll stickers and 666 graffiti on the case. The case is in poor condition, but did it's job of protecting the guitar. The guitar does have wear all over, but is in pretty good condition cosmetically. The frets do have some wear, but still have plenty of life left. The SPECTRUM, BASS and TREBLE stickers on the pickups are worn. Some of the chrome is tarnished, but is mostly pretty good. The end pin(strap button) apparently broke off way back when, with part of the body coming off with it; it has been glued back in an amateurish fashion(please see photo#5) The pickguard is black with the typical Teisco floral motif; the floral motif is quite worn in some areas. I did an okay job of cleaning it, but there is still some dust'n' grime in the very nooks of the body. Still, it plays great and looks fabulous. Teisco guitars are common, but blue Spectrum IVs are not common. It will be carefully wrapped in new 1/2" bubble wrap and shipped in a new 45" by 18" by 6" cardboard guitar box. Questions?
