Please read the steps that I perform on each motor sold as"Refurbished" You don't want to risk buying a"used" motors because there is a risk of exposed electrical wires that can exist in blind spots or in the motor housing. These motors are all-metal construction which means they easily conduct electricity if a short is present. The insulation on the old wires do not hold up in most cases of long periods of time. They can become gummy or brittle. All of the motors I sell get inspected for hazardous risks and the wires replaced if necessary. The following steps were taken when rebuilding the motor: Motor brushes cleaned. Inspected and replaced if necessary commutator contacts cleaned and polished motor wires inspected and replaced to the coil. If necessary shafts lubricated motor coils checked for shorts and ensured to be electrically balanced 10 minute full load burn in test- ensures motor runs strong and does not emit odors or excessive heat tested on 4 layers of denim, After the motor was refurbished. It is tested on 4 layers of denim and it sewed with ease. Overall, the motor has a good finish with some light scratches and nicks. The aluminum nameplate has some discoloration. The wires are original and are in very good condition. It comes with the original mounting screw. When you mount the motor. Leave a little slack on the belt. It should not slip, but also should not be too tight. That will stress the motor and cause it to overheat, plus your machine will run slower with less power. I will include a copy of the Singer BU Motor Instructions. It is similar and the belt is adjusted the same way. Don't forget to follow"The Treasure Cellar" on facebook! Singer Model 15-88 Treadle Sewing Machine w/HTF Steel Legs-5 Drawer Wood Cabinet
This is an original vintage Singer model 15-88 sewing machine with 5-drawer treadle cabinet along with a varied set of attachments. Bobbins, AND the original Singer 15-88/15-89 owner's manual. This desirable model 15 head is desirable in a treadle since it has built-in reverse or back-tacking AND drop-feed dogs for darning, embroidering, and free-motion quilting! The serial number on the machine dates it to December 29, 1936, though it was likely sold after that date at some point. The cabinet has the unusual and hard-to-find steel legs rather than the more typical all cast iron side legs of earlier years, though the center"working" portion of the base does appear to be cast iron. The model 15 head is an original treadle head(not modified) with the spoked hand wheel. This is an excellent working machine that is easy to sew with ... moreand works great except that the bobbin winder needs adjusting as the spring isn't holding it up properly. The machine head isn't perfect and beautiful and has obvious signs of use over the years, but it is still beautiful to those who can appreciate it, and it is an excellent example to actually USE since it isn't pristine where you would have to worry about every nick or scratch, plus, machines that have obviously been used over the years actually work and have their metal parts more more easily than the ones that sat up and weren't used. I think the back oiling plate is not original, but it is functional, though if I can locate one in my stash that exactly matches the side oiling plate, I will change it out. The cabinet is the original wood and has never been restored or modified. It could use a refinishing, and the back wooden panel has a hole with some damage as shown. If you place the cabinet against a wall, this is something you would never see, but it should be easy to replace that piece of wood if desired. Here is a bobbin case. Removed from a working Singer Featherweight 221(dated 1955) and 1 bobbin to go with it. This auction features an original Singer bobbin case. Plus one bobbin. For the Featherweights 221 and 222 and the"big sis" Model 301. The case was removed from a Singer Featherweight 221, whose serial number dates it to 1955, which is being parted out. This is one of the nicest machines I've handled, and there's plenty of evidence that this machine was used very lightly. The usual"SIMANCO U.S.A. stamp and the part number are clearly seen under the latch on the"top" of the case. There was one bobbin on the original machine. And I have included it here. I would rate these items as being in good to very good used condition. Bright and shiny, and operating correctly. Up for sale is a vintage Singer model 66 sewing machine from 1950. The sewing machine is working well but will need a new belt. It shows some wear from use over the years but still looks good overall. The sewing machine includes the original foot pedal and wooden case. The wooden case has scuffs and scratches and is missing the small side panel in front(see pics) There is a little lock on the case that I just use a small screwdriver to open and close so I will include the screwdriver. Auction is for vintage Singer Sewing Machine cabinet No 56 with matching stool. Cabinet fits Singer Models 15-90. 15-91, 66-16, 201-1, 201-2(may need lift kit or bracket for an exact fit) This piece is solid but does have some surface wear including some scratches to surface and what looks like a cup mark on the interior top- please see pictures. The bottom of the stool is missing a small part of the wood looks like it split off- stapled and solid(see picture) Swing arm pops freely, pedal holder hardware, machine mounts etc. all still in tact and present.
