Vintage Heathkit Radio Transmitter Receiver Servo Switch Lot for RC Airplane
Up for auction is a vintage Heathkit transmitter. A Heathkit receiver, 4 Heathkit GD-19 series 12329 servos, a Heathkit receiver battery and an on/ off switch. None of the items have been tested- so I cannot guarantee that they are functional. I am certain that the receiver battery is no longer functional and if there happens to be a transmitter battery inside the transmitter case that would also no longer function. If you plan to test these items you will need to acquire new batteries. For their age they're in aesthetically reasonable condition with commensurate patina as seen in the pictures. The transmitter is missing one of the gimble(stick) caps and the receiver was wrapped in masking tape(the tape residue remains) I did extend the transmitter antenna- it is in good condition(no bends) Examine the pictures carefully to best assess ... morethe condition of all of the items. Please remember the transmitter and receiver are collectors items only. It is likely that they transmit on frequencies that are no longer FCC approved for RC vehicles/ or they do not conform to 1991 AMA frequency regulations- so they should no longer be used to operate RC vehicles. I acquired these items in a lot of RC airplane items that I purchased- but I'm not really a collector so it's time to move them on to someone that will appreciate them. All that is included in the auction is the Heathkit transmitter. Heathkit receiver, 4 Heathkit GD-19 series 12329 servos, Heathkit receiver battery and on/ off switch as seen in the photographs. Vintage Early 60s Heath Heathkit GR-64 Shortwave Receiver
Heath GR-64 Vintage Heath Heathkit GR-64 Shortwave Receiver Up for auction is a used Heathkit GR-64 Shortwave Receiver. This radio is in good overall physical condition with no dings to the case. The original knobs fit tight and have no cracks. The plastic faceplate behind the knobs has a crack behind the tuning knob. There is also some discoloration below the bandspread knob. The top of the case has some fading and discoloration. The radio seems to work fine. The tuner knob is smooth and the tune needle follows as it should. The bandspread knob fine tunes well. All other knobs seem to function as they should. I was able to pick up several stations on all bands with a very crude antenna. Even the face backlights work. That is all I can say for sure as far as working condition. It may well need some kind of adjustments or repairs. Heathkit HW-101 Vintage Ham Transceiver 10-80 meters & HP-23 Power Supply
This is a nice old radio and power supply I got from an inactive ham at a moving sale. It is in generally quite good condition and clean inside. All the knobs are correct and present. Labelling is intact, and I believe all the assembly screws(inside and out) are present. The power cord is present too; these are expensive. I have aligned the radio per the manual and have had descent reception on all of the 8 bandswitch positions. In"Tune" the radio puts out RF as can be seen in the power meter photo. It"tunes up" per the instructions using the 2"Final" controls but I have not made contacts as I don't have an appropriate mic. No unusual smells when operating. The S Meter is appropriately responsive. I have not tried the CW functions other to confirm that a"beep" appears when the key is activated. ... moreWhile the rig makes good power as I mentioned, there is something about the operation I don't understand. When the rig is keyed as with a mic(I just jumpered the mic plug contacts) the rig puts out full power with no input from the mic. Hmmm. I suspect it is something in the VOX circuitry. I can't figure it out. The workmanship on the equipment is quite good. The wiring is very well done and the soldering is good(better than I can do. The tubes seem to be OK and they are all present including a fresh set of finals. Cosmetically this radio is Good. The face plate looks pristine. The chassis is fine, as is the dial. The green/blue/turquise case is a bit drab looking, and has typical light scratches and scuffs. Check out the photos. I've done some cleaning of the circuit boards and have applied DeoxIT everywhere it is appropriate. I don't have a manual, but there are scanned copies available for free downloading. I'll include a partial manual that I printed. The radio and power supply come from a non-smoking environment. AWESOME VINTAGE EARLY 1950'S HEATHKIT AT-1 SIX BAND NOVICE HAM RADIO TRANSMITTER
Presented for your consideration is this awesome looking early 1950's Heathkit AT-1. Heathkit manufactured the AT-1 from 1952 to 1956. This transmitter has the"Collins-like" black skirt knobs placing the date of the kit either 1952 or 1953. The AT-1 was Heathkit's first entry into ham radio inspired by the FCC's creation of the Novice class license in 1951 as an entry level into ham radio. There was a flood of Novices looking for just what Heathkit offered and the AT-1 was an instant success. The legal input power for a novice in the 1950's was 75 watts. The AT-1 was rated for around 25 watts input. But output power was much less around 10 watts. In 1955, Lewis G. McCoy, W1ICP, a contributer to QST, designed a modification to the original AT-1 using a 6BQ6 inplace of the original 6L6. The modification was presented ... morein the Oct. 1955 issue of QST magazine, step by step, just like you'd would have followed when the kit was built. This modification increased the output power to around 35 watts. The 1955 novice was then able to increase his output power by two or three times with only a small outlay of cash. McCoy listed all the parts and many parts advertisers in QST in following months listed the parts for sale. It was a win-win for everyone. This AT-1 was modified exactly as described in QST. A original issue of QST. Oct. 1955 will accompany the transmitter along with some downloaded manual material. The write-up in QST is on pages 36 through 39 and the continued on page 130. The cabinet and front panel are almost perfect. There are a few minor scratches just below the crystal socket. But otherwise it's clean. The cabinet was missing many of it's screws so those on now are new. When the chassis was pulled, it was noticed that all the parts are in their correct place and follow the drawing in the manual. However, the soldering job is a bit sloppy and needs to be cleaned up. But then, it could have been built by a ten year old using a old plumber's foot long soldering iron. U

Rare vintage Heathkit Vacuum Tube Volt Meter VTVM IM-32 inc manual
I've enjoyed owning this rare vintage meter- it took me back to the 60's when I first started dabbling in electronics. But now beside this I have a couple of moving coil meters, a digital Fluke and my O-scope, so I can manage without this. It's in good shape and looks to have been nicely assembled. The original owner made neat marks with a soft black pencil in the included assembly manual as he checked off each stage. Prior to listing. I check calibrated the Ohms ranges at 100 ohm and 2.2k- scroll through the last four photos before the manual photo and you can see it's good. I couldn't get the DC volts scale to calibrate. It appeared to read about 70% of the actual value, connected to the red and black terminals, not the center and black terminals. I don't have the time to troubleshoot or adjust further. Four tube superheterodyne shortwave receiver. It is quite clean, and, with some work, it will make a great first radio for a shortwave enthusiast. Here are my observations as I cleaned it up for eBay. The front panel is in good condition- see pictures. The case has only minor discoloration and scratches typical of its age. The receiver powered on. And all controls functioned as expected. AM broadcast stations were clearly heard with the ferrite rod antenna. With an external antenna. Strong AM signals were clearly heard on the shortwave bands. The signal strength meter worked as expected. Sensitivity appears to be sub-optimal- only stronger signals were discerned. ... morePresence of AC hum suggests the need to replace filter capacitors. WWV time station was heard at 10 MHz. Tuning dial was approximate. The main dial turned smoothly. The band spread worked but seemed a bit stiff. This is not a communications receiver. It is an entry level. SWL receiver. The instrument appears to be complete and unmodified. The unit is being sold as-is. In its present state. The receiver lacks sensitivity- only the stronger signals were received. No effort was made to align, to calibrate or to characterize the performance. A google search brought up several on-line references to help with restoring this unit to its original specs. Being a simple tube design, it should be relatively easy to check out. For best performance, purchaser should be willing to check tubes, align the receiver and connect it to an external antenna. With some work, this receiver should be a great first radio for a new SWL enthusiast. Items being sold have been donated to the Antique Wireless Association Museum for improvement of its collection. For auction is this nostalgic looking. Vintage mid 1950's. Heathkit. Model RC-1. Professional grade, radiation detector-Geiger counter. I do not know anything about this piece of equipment and/or its functionality as I only acquired it to use as a display piece. I always liked the nostalgic look of the cold-war era Geiger counters so I was very happy when I acquired this piece. I acquired this Geiger counter and a Ludlum. Model 3, survey meter from the estate of an old geologist. If you like this type of equipment or need and/or know how to use this equipment; please also take a look at the Ludlem, Model 3 meter I currently have listed. I was advised this is a professional grade. Quality made, piece of equipment. The control box is made out of metal and plastic. The body of the detector measures approximately 9.50" long, 6.50" ... morewide and 5.0" deep and weighs 7 pounds. The steel and aluminum meter probe measures approximately 6.50" in length and 1.0" in diameter at the top of the wand and 1.25" at the bottom. The probe has a coiled rubber cable that extends approximately 6.0' when mildly stretched. I believe the cord could be stretched longer but I wanted to describe the more"relaxed" measurement. As I possess no appreciable knowledge about the specifics of this equipment. The wires were cut and extended from the battery compartment and we have been running it off either a 12 volt battery or rechargable jump starter system. You can attach the wires again and and use two 6v batteries if you wanted but this was easier for me. Comes with mount if you want to attach the transducer to a board. We used it strictly for ice fishing but recently upgraded so decided to sell a couple older flashers I have. Listed a Lowrance as well. Ask any questions. From a local estate. Here is an older Heathkit model ID-1290 weather station, just the front piece with gauges. Measures 7.25" X 20.5" made of molded faux-wood plastic, gauges include barometer, wind direction, wind speed, and indoor/outdoor temperature. Good cosmetic condition with some old dust in the nooks and crannies. I plugged this in, it hummed a bit but that's it. The temperature gauge is at the bottom of the dial. HEATHKIT MODEL DX-40 VINTAGE AM CW AMATEUR RADIO TRANSMITTER 80-10M
VINTAGE HEATHKIT DX-40 AMATEUR RADIO TRNASMITTER Designed for operation on the: 80. 40, 20, 15 and 10m amateur radio bands, this is a vintage transmitter with both am and cw modes. It uses 6CL6 oscillators tubes and a 6146 final with about 75 watts rf input. As with all 6146 designs. Output will be a little less on 10m. The transmitter uses fixed frequency crystals. Or you can add a Heathkit vf-1 vfo for full band coverage. Comes with one 7037 KHz crystal for testing. Output is tuned by a pi-network section which allows loading up into a variety of antenna systems. The AM section uses screen grid modulation which will give up to 80% modulation. Heathkit engineers decided upon this design to reduce the weight and size of this unit- although it has a lot of iron in it as it stands. Transformer and choke! I replaced the old electrolytics with ... moremore modern Japanese versions. Cabinet was repainted( not by me) Meter plastic appears cracked in one spot. All switches are good. NICE VINTAGE 1950'S HEATHKIT VF-1 EXTERNAL VFO COMPANION FOR AT-1 HAM RADIO TX.
For your consideration is this nice 1950's Heathkit Model VF-1 External VFO. It was heath's first VFO and was produced as the companion for their first ham transmitter the AT-1. The VF-1 was released in 1952 and outlived the AT-1 transmitter because it could be used with the DX-20. DX-35, DX-40 and DX-60. It covered 10 to 160 meters in three ranges and provided about 10 volts of RF drive. It could also be used with other brands of ham transmitters at the time. This unit was untested and has been modified slightly. It has all the original internal components to bring it back to the original circuit if so desired. The VOLUME control worked as it should and both the BASS and TREMBLE controls modified the audio(functioned) as they should. The MIC. PHONO, and XTAL. inputs were not tested. No other electrical tests were performed. Interior should be cleaned and the tubes and electronics should be gone over but it is a functioning amp as is and the exterior is dent free. the only noted cosmetic fault is the chipping and peeling spots of the tan colored crinkle paint finish of the main cabinet housing(we hope we have provided enough photos to give a good overview of the cabinet paint issues) Otherwise the front control panel area and surround as well as the knobs are excellent as is the bottom and visible chassis area. Well, almost center, in the yellow anyway, as shown in picture 9. The chart is a little off kilter. And when you roll it, it's not always even and dips and rises as you're turning it, and seems loose inside. Maybe there's an adjustment underneath to take up the slack? There is a cut/ splitting in the casing of the red wire in more than one spot. So that will need to be changed. There is a pretty good patina build up on some spots. It surely needs a good cleaning. There is also some cracking at the top of the clear"window" covering the needle as shown in picture 9. Nothing horrible. The case is pretty crappy. The covering is peeling all over and one corner is coming apart or has come apart and barely hanging together. Also. It's clearly been stored in a basement, so has that musty basement smell. It comes with the manual which is hallway decent shape. Certainly useable, and a"Tube Test Data" booklet for Heath Model TC-1& TC-2 for use with roll chart 1-1-66, which this

Vintage 1969 Heathkit Marine Radio Direction Finder Model MR 21A Untested
Found at an estate sale. Avid boater. I have no way of testing and not sure what screws would get cover off. So it is as-is. From other things the person had and the way he took care of things I'd say that it is probably good, but still it"s as-is. The knobs all feel right, the directional part on top turns easily by the proper knob. The antenna telescopes from 4-1/4" closed to 43" full open and hasn't been bent. I took this monster from either a'50s EICO or Heathkit mono 6L6 tube amp with a blown power transformer many years ago- wish I could remember which it was! Looks serious- weighs a ton. Guess it is an upscale audiophile'potted' type transformer. The only test I could do was for lead continuity- both sets of leads show continuity within the two bundles. Hopefully the color-coded leads will help you identify what goes where. Seems like it would be a really interesting foundation for a very unique project guitar or hi-fi amp in addition to repair work! Good/average cosmetics.
