Vintage Heathkit Organ with Speaker and Bench
I inherited my grandfather'a house and came across this beautiful organ. My grandma told me he assembled it by hand! It is stunning and in great vintage condition- please see pictures as the bench does have a rip in the upholstery. The organ comes with the speaker. The bench(which flips open) and some sheet music. Nobody in my family has any interest in playing, so I would love for this to go to a good home. I have not tested it- I am too afraid of doing something wrong and ruining it! This was my first Heathkit build. It has to be around late 60's in age. Model#GC-1107 S/N 05839 It has been plugged in for the past 30 years 24/7 and it finally wore out. It still lights up as shown in the pictures but all you get in the display is 12:00. The switches on bottom will not do anything. I am pretty sure the timer chip has failed. The metal cabinet shows normal signs of age and wear: some light surface scratches. A couple of small areas on the back panel where the paint has chipped off, but I don't see any dents ore breaks of any kind. The plastic handle is solid, firmly attached and has one nick in it. The front panel is very easily read. The bakelite knob is unbroken and turns freely. The power cord is excellent- no cracks or bare wires showing. When plugged in, it hummed and the eye tube had a nice green glow, but you are buying this electronically AS IS as I cannot test it. What you see pictured is what you will be receiving. The original price is unknown. The unit was not fully tested however it was given a detailed inspection: Unit is in decent cosmetic condition with acceptable usage and wear marks. There is some paint missing on the bottom right corner and some surface rust around the exterior of the trace display. All of the knobs are present on front of the unit. The“phase knob” has a crack but still functions properly. The black connector cap that secures the ground lead plastic clamp is missing. The unit contains 8 tubes. All of the removed. Tested and re installed(2ea 12AU7-strong. 1ea 12BH7A-strong, 1ea 12AX7-strong, 1ea 1V2-strong, 1ea 6X4-strong, 6BH8-strong and 5BP1-not checked) ... morePer the schematics the 6BH8 tube should be a 6BA6. It also has a sync output port. On the front there is a meter that reads R.M.S. Volts on top and decibels(1 milliwatt 600 Ohms) below. There are three rows labeled Zeros in for Variable Frequency. Buttons labeled Multiplier, Attenuation dB, and Ext. Load. There is also a 10v Output. The unit powers up, but I have no way of testing it beyond that. The plastic handle is solid and firmly attached. The front panel is very easily read. The knobs are in excellent condition and turn freely. The power cord is excellent- no cracks or bare wires showing. When plugged in, the power light came on and it hummed, but you are buying this electronically AS IS as I cannot test it. Also included is the original cable which is in excellent condition. This measures approx. 4 3/4" wide, 4" deep and 8 1/2" tall to the top of the handle. W-3M, W-4M, and the W-5M Heathkit'Mono-Blocks' This pre-amp provides three'high-level' and two'low-level' inputs, plus two separate outputs for driving the Amp and a tape input. The controls consist of a volume control, treble control with'on-off' switch, bass control, roll-off, and turn-over. Each input has its own level control for balancing an entire system. There is an internal'hum-balance' control which adjusts the ground between the two balanced tube filiment wires through a 100 Ohm wire-wound pot. Output voltage adjustable up to 5 V RMS. Frequency response is 1.0 dB from 25 Hz to 30kHz, 1.5 dB from 15 Hz to 35 kHz. This is fully tested, Guaranteed Working. It is set up for the Heath IF of 3.395 MHz. You can find(with some luck) IF cans that will allow this to work with 455 KHz IF's. Or wind your own. This is a very nice example of this wattmeter from"Heathkit" The'HM2140A' model. The wattmeter is in great condition, and it works great as well. The top and sides have no heavy type or noticeable scratches, and the edges are nice and clean. The front display is also in great condition, with no scratches, and the inside is nice and clean as well. Measures 7" by 5 3/4" and stands 4" high. Buyer pays 10.50 for Priority shipping.
