It also has a sync output port. On the front there is a meter that reads R.M.S. Volts on top and decibels(1 milliwatt 600 Ohms) below. There are three rows labeled Zeros in for Variable Frequency. Buttons labeled Multiplier, Attenuation dB, and Ext. Load. There is also a 10v Output. The unit powers up, but I have no way of testing it beyond that. Heathkit AD-1304 Active Audio Processor/ Expander/ Noise Reducer Condition of this unit: In a word. It's in GREAT shape! Okay. that's four words. It's just come from the service bench here at heathkitstereo.com, which means it's been cleaned, checked out, calibrated, and verified that everything is functioning as well as(or better than) the engineers at Heathkit intended. Anything that needed replacing has been replaced. I've got to admit, this device has always been one of my favorites when it came to the category of"outboard processors, because it enhances LP and tape recordings in such a beautifully subtle way. The expander section does a superb job of enhancing the dynamics(volume levels, which are normally compressed) without the"pumping" of some lesser quality devices[I won't name names] and the ... morenoise reduction section does all one can expect it to do(before it would really mess up the quality of the music) Yes, I do have one of these on my own system, too, and use it all the time. Cosmetically, I'd give it about an 8.5 out of 10 only because there's a few scratches on the black painted top(front panel is excellent, and wood end blocks are beautiful) Although the AD-1304 is very easy and intuitive to use, I'll include a copy of the operation section of the manual, and if you need an RCA cable or two, let me know about what length you need, and I'll see if I've got any around that size. I pack things well(which may include purchasing a box if there's any doubt about the quality of boxes I have on hand at packing time) which is why the shipping/handling might be a couple bucks higher than standard rates. In the original circuit(see picture 2) they were used to drive a pair of 6CA7 tubes for a 100 watt modulator in an Apache transmitter BUT they could be used for any Tube amplifier. they are quite small, a battery is in picture 1 for size comparison I was also told they were used in the Heathkit DX-100 and many Johnson ham transmitters I don't know that for a fact.Very good condition.
