60's Vietnam Air Force MP ID'd Flashlight Signal Light Parts Bakelite Unusual
Welcome to my auctions. Now that I am no longer working. I have time to go through my collections and downsize. As a result you will see a variety of items listed each week. This auction is for an Original early 1960's Vietnam US Air Force group of parts for a flashlight signal light. There are 2 hard rubber yellow tubes. One is open at the end and the other has a cap that is removable. There is a large screw-on bakelite cap that the light piece fits into. There is a light piece that has a small clear light bulb that is held in place with a heavy metal wire. I have no idea whether it still works or not. The end of the light piece is bakelite. There is another smaller bakelite screw-on cap that would probably fit on the end of the flashlight. There is one round wire piece that I don't know where it goes. The main problem here is at the back cover: there is some light smudging and staining and a large spot of rubbing-type color loss; looks to me like moisture got on it and someone wiped it off and took some of the gloss with it. There is no rippling here, however, and no damage to any interior pages(or even the inside back cover, except for a small yellowed spot near the bottom) Modest signs of handling otherwise. A couple of creases through the Comics Code stamp, upper right front cover. A 1 1/2" tear to bottom of one interior page near spine. Also a 1/4" tear to top edge back cover. Vintage Federal Signal Fireball 2 Warning Light with mirrors
This is an old Federal Signal Fireball 2 light with the mirrors. It works well and lights up just as it should. For its age. The dome which is included but I assume had to be removed for the photo's because of the color, and the mirrors are in excellent condition! The wire ends come out of the side and since it had a direct wire, needs either a cigarette plug wire or you could wire it back direct. it has a magnet on the bottom of the unit. I reassembled it with dome and mirrors after the photos were taken. Overall a nice item that works well. USA only shipping

Nice Series E 28mm f/2.8 Nikon Lens see Ken Rockwell description below. This is a manual lens. Please do your homework as there are NO returns. Body and Glass are in GOOD- VERY GOOD condition. No scratches on coating of lens. No fungus. Minimal dust(less than normal for Ai-S lenses) Aperture blades are snappy and clean. Focus ring and aperture rings are smooth and function as they should. Small mark on focusing wheel. Please see pictures for details. This listing also includes a NIKO Skylight 52mm filter. No case or cover. All Series E lenses are AI-s. And likewise fit every Nikon SLR camera, manual and auto focus. Some of the cheaper AF cameras and the D100 lose the ability to meter with the Series E as they do with all manual focus lenses. To capture more of the amateur market Nikon decided to make a series of lenses called"Series ... moreE" which had great optical quality. They were built with well thought out. Simple to manufacture optics and cheaper mechanics that were more than good enough for amateur use. These cheaper mechanics are often better than what Nikon makes today in some of their cheaper plastic AF lenses. The optics are all great. Nikon only made Series E lenses in focal lengths and aperture ranges for which optics could be designed simply and still give great performance. The first Series E were a little bit ugly. The first were mostly black(lacking the chrome colored grab rings of the Nikkors) and used dorky big blocky nubs on the focus rings. In a few years Nikon updated the cosmetics and added the silver colored aluminum grab ring near the aperture ring and nicer looking nubs on the focus ring rubber. Making them look very similar to the Nikkors. These great lenses were never popular because Nikon was too honest. Back then Nikon admitted that they used a little plastic here or there in the Series E lenses. Which at the time was considered a crime. Three original albumen photographs of a crews and Napoleon guns of the Chicago Light Artillery. And also one showing an encampment of the unit ca.1861 before the unit adopted Federal Blue uniforms. The uniforms shown in this photo are what was described as Natty Uniform and also as Navy Dress according to the web-site Taylors Battery. 1st Illinois Light Artillery. A description from the site describes the uniforms as follows: When the Cairo expedition was mounted. The Chicago gunners adopted a simple, serviceable navy-like dre ss. Photographs taken in the Cairo district of the Chicago Light Artillery in the early months show both men and officers in gray or light blue over shirts and heavy darker gray trousers.
