1893-1899 Type 7 Stanley #5 Corrugated Wood Plane - 13-1/2" x 2-3/8" - Nice One
This is a real nice Stanley#5 wood plane that came from an estate sale near Glen Rock PA. This man had 100 planes. He or someone before him must have lost the brass nut to the knob so someone put a nut mounted into the knob. It is secure and I would not try to get it out. I'm not sure how they did it; the tote has the original full cylinder top. The plane has original finish. I cleaned it a little, it was full of shavings. The blade is from 1910-1918 and the frog is in perfect condition; the frog. Frog receiver& adjustable lever stamps date this one from 1893-1899; the lever cap has a small chip in one corner so use the zoom to see it and to check out the metal& the wood pieces; the knob has a tiny crack at the base and the tote has a couple of minor gouges in it. It measures 9" on the Top 7 3/4" on the Bottom and 2" Deep, has a nice looking Enamel finish with cast iron between. Keen Kutter Bedrock style K7 corrugated bottom with Rosewood handles NR
Your bidding on a hard to find Keen Kutter K7 hand plane. This plane is 22 inches long and has a 2 and 3/8 inch wide blade. The Keen Kutter K series planes were made by Stanley for the Simmons Hardware company and are the same planes as the first series of the famous Bedrock style of hand planes that Stanley made. There are a lot of K5's out there but the K7's are hard to find. I think they are actually rarer than the Stanley 607 bedrock planes. This plane is in decent shape with the usual assortment of small nicks and bumps with a bit of"patina" and about 70-80% of the original finish. The included blade is stamped Keen Kutter and has a lot of life left in it. The front knob and rear handle are really nicely shaped Rosewood. With a sharp blade(like the one I am selling separately) this tool works really well. Fortunately ... moreor unfortunately I picked up a Clifton#7 and don't need two#7 planes. If your looking for a really good user jointer plane plane this one will fit the bill.

VINTAGE CRAFTSMAN No 6 FORE PLANE - CORRUGATED SOLE
An estate sale find. Judging from the Craftsman logo on both lever cap and blade. This fore plane(Stanley No 6 equivalent) appears to be a 1940s-era product. It is almost certainly a Sargent product. Branded for Sears. Let's point out the flaws first: most notably a piece of the casting is chipped out on the upper. Rearmost part of the sidewall on the passenger side(a strictly cosmetic issue) Note also, a good deal of roughness to the finish on the rear handle. The vast majority of the original grey japanning is present. The blade is nearly full length. The mouth is fine and the adjusting mechanisms work perfectly. We do not refurbish any of the tools we sell. Instead we pick only the nicest tools we can find. Clean them and post many clear photos, so that you can see what you're getting.
