1932 gibson L-00 (L-OO) (L-0) 12 Fret Acoustic Guitar
This is a rare 12 fret L-00 in excellent condition. The following parts are not original: tuners. Nut, bridge pins, frets. The guitar was recently expertly re-freted and has a new ebony nut. Pins appear to be bone and tuners are vintage open back. I purchased the guitar a few years ago and opted not to replace the tuners with original spec as these work well. Action is set perfectly for fingerstyle at 5/64" at the 12th. Truss rod moves freely as it should for additional adjustment, if needed. The tone of this guitar is. In a word, stunning! I have played Froggy Bottom, Huss& Dalton and Collings 12 frets and this guitar is on par with them. Not bad for an original sale price in 1932 of $25! There is a professionally repaired 17" crack on the treble side rib. It is stabile and cleated correctly. Usual wear. Rubs and scratches ... morefor a guitar of this age that HAS BEEN PLAYED. I can't stress enough just how beautiful, rich and warm this guitar sounds. It projects more than my Lowden jumbo and has a complexity in the overtones that is equal to some Santa Cruz 12's I have played. This is an x-braced guitar. Gibson did make some of these in a ladder braced design, too. The guitar has an FON of 208 stamped on the neck block and a serial of 1259 pressed into the end of the headstock on the bass side. My research indicates this is a 1932 L-00. The guitar will be shipped in a gig bag inside a professionally packed two layer box and ample padding or if preferred. I can purchase a solid case and ship it in that and a box for an additional cost of $100.00. I will be glad to send additional pictures on request.
