Framed older Abraham Lincoln photos and tavern license
This set came from an estate. It is in very used condition(please see photos carefully) I know nothing about this set but my best guess is it could have been props in a restaurant? It comes from a home that had pets too. The first item 14 3/4" by 12 3/4" and says"Lincoln's Tavern License" It appears to be all printed. The second item is an older looking wooden oval frame 14 1/2" by 12 1/2" The photo in this may have had water damage at one point. The paper appears warped and some may have adhered to the glass. The third item is a giclee with no glass. The frame is about 8 1/2" by 11" There is clearly water damage as you can see in the photo. The picture does not stay in the frame well at all either. Victorian bucket-bowled tavern rummer
This is what we believe to be an English. Bucket bowled, tavern rummer dating from the late 19th century, c1870. The glass is in excellent condition for its age. This means. Of course, that it shows the age related wear and tear to both the rim of the bowl and to the rim of the foot commensurate with almost 200 years of use. The bowl is nicely striated. The glass has a bucket bowl measuring 7 cm(2.8 inches) in diameter at the rim. The bowl sits on a short. Capstan stem which leads to a roughly made plain foot which measures 6.8 cm(2.7 inches) in diameter and carries a T-shaped gadget mark. The glass itself is 14.1 cm(5.6 inches) in height. There are no chips, cracks, significant scratches or any obvious evidence of restoration. It's a bit wobbly on its foot which has not been made completely flat. Vintage Harvey Wallbanger POP Advertising Poster for Galliano Liquor. This poster was from the early 60's in Chicago. To be more precise it was from a"Tavern" not a bar. Not a lounge. a"Tavern" on Clybourn Avenue(North Side of Chicago) It sat on top of the long refrigerator case/cash register area. This spot where the poster sat was as far as a kid could go into the tavern before someone yelled at you to get up front. They sold"cold" soda like strawberry& orange Old Dutch and nickle bags of Jays potato chips. The beer had permeated the floor over the years and it had a distinctive tavern smell. Not a bad smell, but a unique one. This is a unique and rare piece of advertising approx 50 years old. The condition is not extremely good. There are holes and bends as well as damage to the edges.
