Antique Seth Thomas 8 Day Chiming Mantle Clock*Classic Styling* This nice old and classic looking clock was made by the Seth Thomas Clock Co. at Thomaston. Conn. USA, and features a famous and high quality signed Seth Thomas#89 movement, which is probably one of the most dependable movements ever made. It is in good running condition, keeping time and chiming on each hour and half hour on a single chime rod. It counts out each hour, i.e 1 chime at 1:00, 2 chimes at 2:00, etc. and announces each half hour with a single toll. Timeless in styling. This clock has already lasted at least 90 years, and with proper care should easily last another lifetime, making it a nice piece to hand down to future generations. The signed Seth Thomas silvered dial is in good condition but shows a lot of age. Wear and staining which is consistent with the age ... moreof the clock. The solid brass bezel is heavily tarnished but could be shined easily if desired. The clock case structurally is in good shape. The finish has some imperfections on the top. But the front is in great shape, and of course, the front is all you can see when it's up on the mantle. The measurements are 21" long x 9" high x 6" deep. This clock is 18" wide 7 7/8" tall and 4 7/8" deep. It has a few real small marks on it and a few real small paint specks. Overall it is in pretty good shape. On the dial it has new haven made in the U S A. It has the directions on the back door it has the cathedral gong. I put the pendulum on it and it runs and chimes good. Very Nice Time & Strike Bim-Bam Mantle Clock
For your inspection: A very nice 8 day time and strike bim-bam mantle clock. The movement is not marked. But I believe it to be of German manufacture in or about the late'30s. If you don't know. The bim-bam strike method it is one hammer striking a note followed by multiple hammers striking a chord. Each set of strikes representing one. At 12:30 there would be one set of"bim-bam" at 1:00 there would be one set of"bim-bam" at 2:00 there would be two sets of"bim-bam" etc. The case has been given a good cleaning but does have a few flaws as are shown in the different pictures. There is a small piece missing from the left side decoration along with a few other flaws. All are visible in the pictures. The bezel has had two securing pins replace by two small screws. The are just above the hinge on the left side ... moreand cannot be seen when the bezel is closed. I'm quite sure the chime rods have been change out. Also. The chime rod assembly is mounted to an adapter type mount. This was, probably done to improve the quality of the striking. I took the movement apart. Cleaned all the pivot points and oiled it with a very high grade of synthetic clock oil. It is working beautifully and keeping good time here. But may need to be adjusted once it gets to its final destination. It stands 8 1/2" tall. 5 1/2" deep and 20 1/2" long. If you need additional pictures or information. Please, do not hesitate to ask. For sale is a beautiful Seth Thomas Electric Mantle Clock- Medbury 5E. I have taken extra photos for your review so there will hopefully be no surprises for you as the buyer. The clock is not in perfect working condition. It chimes but definately needs some TLC to bring it back to its orginal working condition. Glass panel in front is clear with NO scratches. Scuff marks on top and right side. Brass ring around outer glass is somewhat tarnishing but some"gentle elbow care" will probably eliminate most. Overall. Clock is beautiful- just needing some care to bring it up to par. Clock comes from a smoke free home and has no odor. I will take extra care to ensure the safest shipping for this piece. Vintage Sessions wood/wooden camelback shelf mantle electric clock
Unfortunately. The clock does not operate. However would be a great project for the clock enthusiast! It is in great cosmetic condition. The case has some small scratches/wear but would polish up nicely. A couple scratches on the crystal but not noticeable unless you look very closely. There is a bug behind the glass though. The gold tone trim does show wear but I think it adds character. The plug is the older style but looks to be in good shape. Please remember that this is a NON WORKING clock if you are going to bid. Fantastic wood New Haven Westminster gothic style clock. It is electric. Has the original cord that is still in great condition(see 11th pic) Instructions inside says it's a Westminster Chime- Self Starting. Seems to be in great working order. Measures 13.5" tall x 9" wide. Weighs 6.2 pounds. Overall nice vintage condition. The wood has some spots of wear to it here and there(see pics) and it looks like there may have been a latch for the clocks face plate door(see 10th pic) It still closes. BREATHTAKING OLD WORKING SETH THOMAS 8 DAY WESTMINSTER CHIME WOOD MANTLE CLOCK!
We have a large number of vintage and antique clocks currently listed along with an equally large number of music boxes. Coffee grinders, and other very nice collectibles. Be sure to have a look at our other items! We've had this magnificent clock in our home for over 12 years now. It has been maintained or serviced at least four times since it's been here and frankly. Were it not for the cause listed below, this clock would remain in our home; no doubt about it. This is an excellent, well made, very rare, working Westminster Chime mantle clock that was created about 70 years ago in the"USA" and signed on the dial by"Seth Thomas, one of the finest clockmakers in history! The clock case is made entirely of wood and has a gorgeous mahogany finish with a special inlay or outlay under the dial in front; very nice! It is ... morea tambor or Napoleon Hat style of mantle clock and is fabulous on display. There are round wooden feet under each corner to allow for support and a brass metal hinged bezel surrounding the dial with a great patina going for it. A convex glass crystal is inset into the bezel; no cracks or chips that I can see. The bezel is securely latched yet opens easily to allow access to the three winding arbors located on the dial and for setting the time. The dial center sports a fancy design and the"Seth Thomas" name appears on the upper dial in their familiar calligraphic script logo. The phrase, Made in USA" appears in small block letters at the bottom of the dial. There are large, easy to read, very fancy arabic numerals to mark each hour and there are equally fancy matching metal hands to point out the time. There is a hinged wooden door in the very back that is form fitted and securely snug. The door opens easily to allow access to the key wind, mechanical, pendulum"A400-000" movement signed by"Seth Thomas" and states, Made in Thomaston, Connecticut USA" as well. Antique Ansonia "Africa" Mantle Clock - Incomplete but working.
Bought as my first"project clock" it was filthy so I stripped it down including the movement. All parts were cleaned of grease. Oil and grime, refinished the wood and re-assembled. The pieces missing are some gingerbread that I never saw. But you can Google it to see what it looked like when new. I kind of liked it without the trim. Anyway. It works, keeps time, and has been surpassed by recent projects. 21.25" tall. 12" wd& 4.75" dp. Key and pendulum included. Remember. The Westminster chime works perfectly and sounds really awesome. The movement has the Hamburg“crossed arrows” trademark stamped on it. It has ran steady for three days now since I would it. But it is running a little fast; Approximately 8 to 10 minutes fast over a 24 hour period. There is a pace retard/advance adjustment screw located at 12 o’clock on the dial. But I never experimented with it. It would be very reasonable to assume that this movement is long overdue for a good thorough cleaning& oiling. The watch has ran for several days now with only one winding; I do not know exactly how long its power cycle actually is. But it's probably around 8 days, ... morebut I'm not sure. The pendulum is the original and it is in great shape. The Glass is in excellent condition. The wooden housing finish is untouched& original; it has some wear spots in a few places and some minor imperfections here and there. But it is in good solid cosmetic& structural condition. The hands are both in excellent condition. The dial has a few small scuffs and light scratches. But it’s quite good looing overall. This is a beautiful vintage clock! The gold is worn off in some places and the hand- picture has faded a little in some places from age. It is free of any cracks. I have an antique Birge. Peck, Company mantle clock made in Bristol, Connecticut between 1840 and 1860. It's an 8 day, split column clock. It runs good. The middle tablet is original, but cracked. The face is in good condition except over the#2. It has the original steel hands, brass clock works, key, pendulum, weights. It's made of Rosewood. It is Civil War related as shown in pic 2 of the 13 stars. It has the original directions to set the clock running and keep it in order as shown in pic 10. This clock is a rare find. Especially being all original and working so great. It keeps acurate time. The dimensions are 19 1/2" wide across the top x 32 1/2" tall x 6" deep at the top. Weights will ship seperately.

All the parts seem intact and I believe the clock will work with the proper key to wind. Measures 11 inches in height. 13 inches in width at the base and 5 inches deep. Hand-cleaned and hand-polished making it very shiny. The brass pole holders and Seth Thomas feet that hold this beautiful clock. Along with the Sphinx head on each side, all have a hint of gold-gilt to keep them from tarnishing. Above and below each set of two poles there is a marbleized adamantine block that is very pretty in blues, greens, teal blues, white, black and tans. The complete top is also in an adamantine ... morematching color as these blocks. The poles are FULL ROUND Adamantine Onyx and in very good condition. The bottom front and around the bezel there is lovely gold-gilded scrolling that is just beautiful, and really sets off the clock in a deep rich gold color. Nice large clock Measuring: 18" wide x 10-1/2" tall x 7-1/4" deep. A signed Seth Thomas. Restored Arabic Dial is offset with a fancy pie type bezel, and Spade Hands tell you the time. The clocks 8 day time and strike movement is a signed 4-1/2 Seth Thomas Clock Movement(Made in the U.S.A. It has been ultrasonically cleaned. Springs and bushings checked out, then oiled with a fine German clock oil, so that it will run smoothly in time and beat. This is a Birge Mallory& Co. 8 Day Triple Decker Mantle Clock. Cerca 1840. The Case is Walnut and in very nice condition. It is 35" tall, 17 3/4" wide and 5 1/2' deep. I believe the glass was replaced sometime during the life of the clock, as well the mirror panel in the center. The reversed painted bottom panel has been has been nicely repainted. Vintage Gilbert mantel clock parts Please see the photos. You will get everything shown in the photos, great for Steampunk art Includes all the gears that were once in a whole mantle clock. Includes the winding key. Clock face. The minute hand is okay, but the hour hand is broken. I don't know if the clock mechanism works or not. It's untested. Side note: these parts were removed from an old mantel clock. The case was made of wood, but split at the top. If you're interested in the case, maybe we could work something out, but shipping would be much higher. Wooden case is not included in this auction. There is a small brass rim around the face plate(when the hinged part is opened) And including that it measures 140 mm across. If the small metal rim is not included then it measures 134 mm. And then there is the larger metal piece ... moreon the hinge(that would hold the glass, but there is no glass) the inside diameter is 132 mm, outside diameter about 141 mm. Rare Antique Lincoln Electric Mantle Clock Depression Era 110 Volt Wooden
Very interesting antique clock here. I have never seen one like it. This clock is very primitive. You can tell it was cheaply mass produced. The glass is actual glass, and it is very loose, but still holding in. The clock is cracked on the top, see pictures. The back is very crude, and is held on with primitive nails. I have never taken off the back of the of it before, so I don't know what it looks like. There is a label on the back of the clock, that is mostly gone, but some of it is still visible. Two knobs on the back, and the fabric coated cord as well. The cord is not in good shape, and is fairly deteriorated at the base of it. The cord is zip-tied, and has been since I've owned it. I am not an expert. I've tried to describe this clock as best as possible. Please ask any questions you may have. The clock has not been tested. ... moreAnd I will not test it.
