I purchased a couple of these amplifiers some time ago and then never put it into service. My plan had been to get it going on 5760 MHz. But now that I no longer have any microwave transverters. This is of no use to me. The factory warranty seals are all intact. I have no idea if these were ever used. A nice mounting bracket makes mounting it simple and also should provide a reasonable heatsink. I have voltage data and wire colors to match that data. Everything is 12 VDC or less though a couple of them are negative voltages. RF connections are via stainless female SMA connectors in and out. Since the lower end of the range is 6.4 GHz, and in order to meet specs at 6.4, you know they will work below that designed range, I would think they would be reasonable at 5760. 1 KW HEAVY DUTY HOME BREW HF AMPLIFIER DECK FEATURING THE 3-500ZG BUILT by W4USR I have just signed off 20 meter CW running at the 800 watt output level with this heavy duty 3-500Z HF amplifier. I have a collection of RF amplifiers I have built since retirement and the radio room floor is about to cave in. Time to find a new home for some of these home brew RF machines. I bought the basic amplifier in a much different configuration a few years ago at the Raleigh HamFest. I completely disassembled the entire amplifier and cleaned and repainted all the metal work. Then a rebuild with amplifier parts accumulated over the years. I first ran a 4PR400 at the 5KV level running a solid 1KW output. I am now using a 4KV power supply with the RF Parts. 3-500ZB in the amplifier. One could easily run a 4-400 in GG or a 3-400. This deck is forced air cooled ... morewith a pressurized chassis and the Eimac glass chimney. You will notice the heavy duty large spacing components. The deck will take up to 5KV. All the switching and power control is built in. There is a two conductor pin out jack that provides 110 vac output to control an external power supply. Also it has a front panel operate/stand-by switch. This RF deck offering is complete including the 3-500ZG and two pin external switching plug. All the antenna changeover and biasing system is complete inside the amplifier. Oh, you will notice the toggle switch on the rear. This is a bias switch for SSB or CW. Simply add one of your power supplies with DC voltage in the range of 2200 vdc to as high 5KV and you are on the air with a serious 10-80 meter RF amplifier. Drake SPR-4 Receiver Radio 3.5 - 4.0 MHz 80 Meter Ham Crystal
If you own a Drake SPR-4 receiver. You know that it is a great classic receiver dating from 1968 to 1979 and was Drake's first fully solid state general coverage receiver. It's capabilities are legendary and collector's of vintage equipment relish the SPR-4 as a very sensitive receiver. The RL Drake Company did not offer a lot of accessories with the SPR-4, but did make calibrator and noise blanker modules available to enhance listening. In addition, they sold extra crystals to expand the bands available for the user to tune into more frequencies than the factory supplied crystals. Please note that this crystals will NOT work in other RL Drake receivers.only the SPR-4. This sale is for the 80 meter crystal covering 3.5- 4.0 MHz. But the SPR-4 will actually tune at least 50 KHz on each side of this range. The crystal is easy to ... moreinstall in the crystal board of the SPR-4. Basically you remove 6 screws holding the top cover in place and then determine which place on the crystal board you want to place the crystal(there are 23 possible positions) After plugging it into your desired socket position. Hewlett-Packard HP-33330C Crystal Detector (10 MHz to26.5 GHz) Tested/Guaranteed
Here is an HP-33330C Coaxial Crystal Detector. Option 003(positive polarity output) serial number 1822A00106. Made in USA. It has a frequency range of 10 MHz to 26.5 GHz using a Low-Barrier Schottky(LBS) diode. The maximum safe continuous input is 200 mW(23 dBm) The output is a positive voltage with respect to ground. The input connector is a gold-plated male SMA connector and the output is a gold-plated female SMC connector. The detector was tested in my lab and was found to have an output of +291 mV for an input of 0 dBm(1 mW) at 10 GHz. Note that I could not test the detector beyond 18 GHz as that is the limit of my equipment. The detector is guaranteed against anything but abuse. Please contact me if you have any questions.
