So I am sure it has plenty more room for a stable faster speeds. Again, this was just the speed my MSI auto-overclocked to(with OC Genie 3) I am moving to a laptop, and parting out my current PC. It has been*completely* stable. I have the stock CPU cooler(unused) So winner can choose to have the stock Intel CPU*instead* of the Zalmann. UP FOR BID IS THIS COAST GUARD RADIO. R-116, Made by National in Mass. I brought the power up slowly, with a variac to preserve the filter caps and it works fine. checked a few bands on AM and it seemed pretty stable. it had been stored for a long time. I cleaned it up a little, but it needs some more cleaning. It uses the 697 doghouse power supply, to which I added a fuse and grounded 3 wire power cord. This radio seems to be one of the first National radios to use bandswitching, not plug in coils. Power supply comes with it and will be shipped in a separate box. Radio will be very carefully packaged. Its heavy and I will give you the shipping price after the auction is over and its packed. I plan to double box it. I plan to use FedEx ground and insure it. The back pieces are missing but we had it mounted with large hose clamps and they did just fine. The cabinet is not damaged or modified and the original paint is good with a some scratches/nicks. I bench tested it with my TS-140S and hamstck antenna. For Auction: US Army Signal Corps T-21/ ARC-5 HF Transmitter/Exciter set up to function as a VFO for the Central Electronics equipments(10A. 10B, 20A, etc) This is the first of several VFO conversions I will be offering here. Covering 5.3 to 7 mHZ originally. We assume it still has this capability. The changes were either referenced in one of the Surplus Equipment Modification compendiums that have been around for a long time or a conversion was being done for the Central Electronics equipments to function as a VFO. It's use as a VFO is what is going on here I think. The rear sockets originally has 1626- Xtal- 1626 in that order. The unit now has a 1626 in the first socket and a VR-150 in the second. Underneath(see pictures) changes were being made around those sockets. Towards the front. One of the power tubes is out. We did not take ... moreoff the top so don't know what. If any, changes went on there. The underneath looks original. Complete and quite clean. The ham who had this was into Central-Electronics exciters and was modifying a few sets like this to use as a VFO. This is what I think the changes were all about. But this is just a my guess. If you are experienced in ARC-5 equipment or are getting into vintage Central Electronics transmitters. Perhaps you can find a use for this. PLEASE SPECIFY YOUR AMATEUR CALL SIGN WITH YOUR ORDER This is a Larcan 1.5KW power amplifier module. Removed from service at a local TV station due to the analog shutdown. This is similar to the 1KW(4 transistor version) we've sold previously. But has 6 transistors instead. In the 6m amateur band(50- 54 MHz) Unmodified, it will provide 15dB of gain- 10W in gives approximately 300W out. By changing some capacitors and removing some jumpers. It can generate the full 20dB gain on either the 6m or 2m amateur band. If modified, you should derate the output to 600W for FM operation. This amp cannot be modified to operate below the 6m amateur band(below 50 MHz) Circuit board traces are used for inductive elements and are far too short to go to lower frequencies. The cabinet is not damaged or modified and the original textured paint is excellent with a few minor scratches. I bench tested it with my TS-140S and hamstck antenna. This item is a very nice and very complete WWII surplus BC-458-A Command Set transmitter made by Western Electric. It is in very nice condition and complete with all original tubes. Crystal, and some hardware; some of the hardware is missing. It has a thick ID tag on the right side; this unit is serial number 48278. It appears to be quite complete and unmodified; it still has the original 7 pin military connector on the back. The cabinet finish is very good with NO visible flaws that I can find. Buyer pays shipping; it will weight about 15 pounds very well packed. It will take up to seven days to ship it, as I am currently handicapped and need to arrange help. I will be listing and selling all my duplicate boat anchor equipment pieces, and all of the military pieces as I do not collect military radios.
